No the guys who do the coms have access to the run races that are stored in Drop Box to view and do the coms only the race Runners have the Race Kit ( The Race Kit allows the race runner to run races name the races in the CK and to create a text file and write form to the horse files which is uploaded to TOM )

I dont have problems moving files around since I am using dual monitors.


The problem I have with OBS was that it would record the whole screen. So if played in windowed mode I it would record everything from monitor 1 including the folder and empty background and icons.



Is there a way to tell it to record only a specific area on my screen? I don't want the whole screen recorded if I just want to record 1280x720 out of the whole 1920x1080 area?

If I can't do that then I have to manually crop the top, bottom and sides to get each race video. Which would be a lot of work.

Currently I am using play.tv software to record. The problem is that play.tv does not have a start/stop record function. I starts recording when I start playing. It includes all the loading and selecting of files within the game. So it records one long video which is everything.

I then use Filmora software to cut a specific clip from the long video that is produced. So a video could be 2 to 3 hours long depending on length of play and then I would need to extract multiple 2 to 3 minute race from the long video.

Either way I would be doing a lot of video editing. So adding the text is not my biggest problem. Also the Filmora software I use can save templates so it's easy to add text or re-use templates.

Any tips would be great.

Kev uses OBS I have no idea I use Bandicam which allows you to click a small TV Screen which you click open then click on the window this will then only record the window you use hotkeys to start and stop recording F12 starts and stops recording other Hotkeys do other things if I press F5 the screen can stop and record all horses jumping a fence then I press F2 and the screen moves again with the horses.

Ignore the previous post. I was able to find the start/stop button on the Play.tv recorder and good to go. No editing involved. I just need to tweak my recording to get the file a bit smaller. I can mute the races and won't add the texts if no one wants them.

Will do more testing...

You said the horse files are available 7pm friday. Would that be UK or Australia time? I'm not sure where everyone is located.

OK, so I downloaded bandicam and created a dropbox account, have run a simple 1m flat race, get a 268mb file, with a dropbox upload time of 30mins, perk of living in the middle of nowhere.............

Josh you can get OBS free your Bandicam is a free Version that's why its says Bandicam.com on the video it wont let you Record anything over ten minutes you don't put the race in your Drop box you will put it in mine when I add you to my Dropbox it shouldn't take 30mins to upload all you do is Copy your race from your folder and paste it into a folder in my Dropbox.

Im in Canada so I'm 6hrs behind.

After doing a few more videos it's a lot more work than I thought. I think you are right about time being a problem.

The typing and aligning of text is more annoying than I thought. I'll do as you say and do a few per week and see how it goes when league starts.

Another thing I noticed is that it's kinda distracting. I keep checking the odds and not watch the actual race.

I was doing the same thing.

It does get quicker the more you do - I've wiped hours off the time I was initially spending doing comms.
The biggest frustration I have doing the comms is keeping my mouth shut in the forums until the meeting has been opened to the public

Josh did you get my link to Drop Box Thunderspark will you be able to run races I need to know so I can give you the new race kit to practice with so we can sort any problems with it.
Leon will be working on TOM Thursday onwards so you guys might have problems connecting to TOM over the next week or so.

How long does it take to handicap the races each week?

It all depends Doug the handicapper has to view the race results or watch the races viewing the results on TOM is best but the results can't be shown on TOM until the official day so its best to work with 10 per day do Mondays on Monday etc. the handicapper will have access to the horse files in Dropbox and then will Manually change the ratings in the CK and put the horse files back in Dropbox then lets me know when completed and will then collect them and put hem back in the Pool Folder where I keep all league horses. The Handicapper gets admin to TOM where he can change the ratings on the results page which automatically updates the horses rating in the Stable so it will take 3 days doing each day has results are shown.
