 Re: Weekly Reaction
Daylight Robbery ran well in the Ultima hcap but mistake 3 out probably cost it any chance of a place and Sea Pigeon just ran too wide and never got into the race (Coral Cup) so did well in the end to finish 4th. My other runners were well and truly outclassed as expected.
On the flat Young Generation won the Old Borough Cup and Velvet Underground (3rd) ran another stormer in a blanket finish to the Portland.
Well done all winners and placers.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Week 10 - Monday
Flat
Crystalline - 13th he is no G1 horse
High Tide - 5th ran alarmingly well for fifth in a G1, the result of which will likely out her from the handicaps for the season, but exceeded expectations
Need for Speed - 11th just a nag this one
Podgies Boy - 9th another who is no group class horse
Fine Puzzle - 6th ran well albeit off low weight, not much to separate the top 6
Closing Gap - 1st did it right today, and it is nice to get his 2nd win of the season. No longer makes the grade in trials, the future is bright
Jump
Rabbling Rebel - 5th stayed on well at the end but no real danger to the top three
Emergence - 4th his usual position in this company just not quite up to snuff
Slim Chance - 1st seems martyn knows my stable better me after tipping him for this, I did not fancy he'd cope with the ground, though he was lucky that terrible liar made a mess of the last. First ever Cheltenham winner. Mission accomplished
Chess - 2nd she ran a blinder today and if it were not for some bad horsemanship on the last, where she had to check her stride she may have run closer. But champion hurdle 2nd I am happy with, she will be better next year if she makes the team potential is max at 6yo for this girl
Around DBX - fell
Coconut Shy - 6th was snatchy today and she really dislikes the heavy ground, faded when it counted
William Coconut - 6th led and fade, usual and expected performance
The Tortoise - fell badly should have run the mentalist
Xternal - 5th stayed on well but not the pace of the top 3

 Re: Weekly Reaction
3 winners today
Mack The Knife What can i say what a finish he looked beat after a very slow jump at the last but this fella never knows when he is beat thats 4 races 4 wins 2 x G2 2 x G1 undoubtedly the superstar of my stable hard lines to Stu Grey your horse did you proud was race of the season for me. Not sure what he can go for next week but may risk sending over further in the Melling Chase at Aintree i think he'd stay 2m4
The Bombshell Her 5th win of the season and now a 3 time Grade One Winner wiining the Golden Miller G1 with a gutsy performance she is a class act won by close to 3 lengths.
Stella Artois 4 races 3 wins 2 x G2 1 x G3 its 3 in a row for Stella smartly winning the Royal Lodge G2 made all and had to give weight away very hopeful he will bag a G1 next.
The Martin & Doug preview/review Chat trend continues more beer talk next week lads
Been great craic chatting on the livestream we are like a family in there and the good will to all trainers banter laughs is great well done to the team who make it all possible the preview shows with tips tables nations etc have been a different league beautifully put together thanks so much.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Well Light Andiamo ran a strong 4th for me from a wide barrier and then racing wide the whole way and another of my horses, Miss Light must have had one of Paul Rhodes reject jockeys on board - twice the easy option was to go around horses with plenty of room to do it and twice he rode it in behind horses where he had to stop riding and ease back. Am certain the little mug cost me 2nd or 3rd!

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Very happy about my 4th with Storm Zero in the Ryanair World Hurdle Grade 1 just 1/2 length behind the winner and really fighting for the win. Didn't enter the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle and it was the right decision. Congrats to all winners and placers, comms as brilliant as always. looking forward to the Arc today!! Re: Weekly Reaction
Tuesday was another fine day for the stable. The soft ground at Cheltenham suits my horses.
Flat
No winner today, but a few nice placers. A 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place.
Fibre Optic is the form flat horse in my stable at the moment. He finished a creditable 2nd in the William Hill Gold Cup. His form in the last 4 races is 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd.
Jumps
My first winner of the festival today after all the near misses yesterday.
The stable had 1 x 1st, 3 x 2nd and 2 x 5th.
The star of day was undoubtably Juniper Maid who won for the second week in a row. She has hit form at the right time to finish 1st in the G1 Weatherbys Champion Bumper. She made her move towards the front with 2.5f to go and once she got to the front, never looked like being beat, although she was tiring a little towards the finish line.
There were good 2nd places for Highland Lad in the Pertemps Final, (thought he was going to win until Leons horse passed him in the last 40 yards), Particle Beam was 2nd in the Brown Advisory Handicap and Banterbury Maid was 2nd in the G2 Trull House Mares Hurdle.
I have noticed a trend with my horses this season, probably been accidentally bred into them, they tend to make a move towards the front with about 3f to go, sometimes they hang on, but quite often they run out of steam in the last 50 yards.
The live stream is great addition to the league. The cameradie shown by the trainers is a true testament to how trainers should behave. Because I do not follow racing in real life, when the conversation goes off the legue races and into horse racing in general, I realise how much many of the trainers are real aficiadoes of racing.
Great comms from the guys, but please do not tip any more of my horses for Wednesdays racing as everytime they tip one of my horses, it has a stinker of a race.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Finally got my first ever Cheltenham festival winner . Vanguard Dream in race 19, I was tempted to give him a shot at the Ryanair but I'm glad I didn't now. He has been my jumps star, that's 2 wins and a second in big Cheltenham handicaps. He's also a gamebred which tells you all you need to know about my extensive and scientific breeding programme! One downside, I really hope that in SO7 the racekit is sorted because the pull-ups in 3 mile plus races is almost a game wrecker. Congrats to all winners and placers and to everyone who makes it possible.

Those 3+ plus races can be a pain, I run with4 complete donkeys in my trials so they are the ones that get pulled up most.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Oscar ran 7th in the Midlands National today Happy with the performance after the slow start, could have really done with him leading from the get go but can't complain. Hes my stable star doubt he will ever win a race but i'm more than happy finishing in the top 10 i didn't think it would be possible at the start. Hopefully he gets a spot in the national Also thanks for the mention in the review show

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Just the 1 winner this week for me, but some solid efforts in H'capps too. Nebraskan Pepper N Salt unlucky runner up in the Cambridgeshire, an as usual was flying late. However big week for the stable as Iowan Bothwell picked my first group 1. If you had told me at the start of the season it would win a group one, I would have said yes, but having seen a few poor efforts I had given up on it. Think it finally benefited from not being held up. Group 1 winner definitely makes it all worthwhile, might even prompt me to actually start playing again as it's been a while

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Congrats Kniesh on the Group 1. Your horses are pretty good but whats with all the states themed names?
I collected a few checks in both codes this week. Numerous rides where my jockey runs into a wall of horses.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Would it possible at all to eliminate the weight advantage 3yo's get in Group races? The way the top players play it seems 3yo's are the age of horse to have. In other words - The best players best horses are most likely 3yo's. These horses are the best in the league against all ages - and they get a weight break! Between 3 and 9 stones.
Group races should be at equal weights. Females get the usual weight break. Can this even be done?

Can this even be done? would be completely unrealistic though there has always been weight for age in real life and the league most of my 3YO dont have full potential bars where the older horses do not sure its the same for the other top flat trainers Thunderspark John Steve etc
