Not very deep. No more than 5 or 6 back. Just very selective of the horses that are available from ai breeding barn. I always without fail breed with horses that can beat the SOPL track recors in game. This is no guarantee but where there are misses there are hits.

The SOPL track record, as in the league records?
Hmmmm, sounds like you do quality not quantity! How many 2yos do you breed a season?
Anyway, I also need to go back to the drawing board. Like Stu I'm glad I implemented the 15 horses rule It's good to have a challenge though.
Sabella, Scylla beat one of my favourite horses.
What I would say to anyone is don't neglect sprinters in your breeding, they inject a lot of pace into your breeding lines and if you can match that with stamina you're onto a winner.

I find good sprinters are like a gold mine to come across, the 2yo sprinters I have are winning every group race for 2yo in game plus nunthorpe and abbeye but become donkeys at 3!! The only 2 who didn't are starspangledbanner & Choisir who are my only 2 real chances of a sprint winner in the league although I do bang one decent sprinter out every year as with super stormer and zally who were both winners or placed in group races, everytime I breed with a 5f/6f horse I get a donkey or something that wants 7f/1m, I find it rather easy to lose the bloodlines of a sprinter! Same goes with the stayers I find it impossible to breed a decent 2m3/2m4f horse although one may come along every 10 seasons that I can breed with but by that time my 2m4f decent horse has passed on!! So annoying!

Yes it is the SOPL league records.
It varies between game to game. If I transfer 6 mares to breed with an ai barn then only six can be produced. I do this because I play a lot of small games ie 5 or 6 seasons till a decent ai sire or dam appears.

And I loved it! Wow you guys have some brilliant horses. I was beaten about as badly as I expected to be and now I have some very valuable lessons to go put into practice. Excellent races!
Nice post Sabella, glad you enjoyed the races dont get down if you get beat up just try and improve, any questions just ask away! Just ask someone who can win a race and not me!

HurricaneRun wrote: listen rivers , there were sooo many problems with TOM last season 2, and everyone respeced Colm and never said a bad word to him!!
rich got this season up and running, and in my opinion with the field sizes there are atm it is very fun and enjoyable racing. every trainer i speak too is excited about the league and is enjoying this first week. so try all you want to cast shadows over the league, but it will continue!!
17days - you keep asking who runs the races - me rich and kenny run the races, one league each
scatters issue - john cheated last season and was banned. I for one was a trainer who needed to see him banned and he knew himslef it was fair. Mark implemented security checks so that any files which had been modified or edited ( to dupliacte a horse or change its age) could be easily spotted and that person would be banned from the league. scatters has passed these checks, and yes he has some very good horses. but if you ask him how he gets a stable so powerful he will give you some advice, and alot of it is scattered (no pun intended) about this forum. I was fully expecting his stable to be unbeatable, along with crazyboy , jay, and esa he knows the game inside out and obviously has very strong bloodlines.
He beat me into 2nd so many times but i enjoy racing him , i will come out on top in some races im sure, altho probably not many!!
the league has started well, and im sure every trainer is going to enjoy it!!!
sorry for the rant but i think some people expect rich to be on these forums and working on the game all day every day as if he gets paid for it!!!ive said it once, ill say it again - he enjoys the league and wants to get on with it as much as the rest of us. and scatters horses have passed the checks so just because hes had winners dont try and accuse him of cheating!!
ill have a review of my performances for all leagues in the next couple of days!!thanks to those who showed faith in francine in the tipping competition, exciting race eh??!!
Thanks H/R saves me saying this, Congrats Scatters thought you would have some good horses but im sure they wont rule every race!

I don't know if I should say this but with respect to Hurricane's post, the reason Colm isn't president any more is because of all the nasty, threatening emails he was sent during and at the end of the last season.
I have no real interest in the league, other than keeping as up-to-date as possible as I'm a moderator. I've aired my views already when the time was appropriate and I suggest to people like Rivers that you do what I do until the presidency comes up again (if it ever does) then get stuck in with promoting your candidate, whoever that may be.

Thanks for that Hackett When I first watched the races through I have to admit I was a bit disappointed, but I got over that quickly enough and proceeded to torture myself by watching them over and over again until I came to the conclusion that the league is freaking awesome! And your Manetheren and Succession looked to be pretty promising. Not to mention Dragonmount who I was rather nervous to note is entered in the Holy Bull against Nightmares in Berlin. That will be an interesting one to watch
Rich, that does make me feel somewhat less pathetic and your sad smilie was well appreciated I can't feel too sorry for you, what with the rather impressive looking sprinters you have hanging out in your stable.

Watching the US races a few times Sabella?
There’s a lot in them. A Lot of hard luck stories just like real racing!!
If you like maybe you can do a preview or post review if you feel up to it.
Up to you though.
I do about three per week. Gets draining after awhile
Happy racing.

Hmm, that does sound like a good idea but I have to be honest; I don't really feel qualified to review them just yet. I've read your ones, Scatters, and they are very interesting. You see things that I just don't, lol! But maybe in a few weeks time, when I've got my eye in a bit more?

The only reason I see them is because I watch the race looking at one horse at a time. Usually the first six or seven. Believe me I'm not that good!!
Just enjoy the league, don't feel compelled.

Lol, that'd explain it a bit Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll have a go at it, though. See how it goes, anyway.
