 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
In twelve races I won five, came second in five and had a third and fourth. That wont be happening in the league as at least two trainers have much better for the league!
Re start date Rich is still waiting for someone to sort out TOM. As soon as its done it will start

Hi dap dont let trials put you off why not aim for handicaps prep for big handicaps like the lincoln cambridgeshire etc i won the lincoln with a adverage horse last year stick in maidens and try and work towards a big target mate you will love it

 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
I was quite happy with mine, I dont think any of them will be making my league team so hopefully my best will be able capable of running in the good races. The Derby is the one I want and that will be my main hope for the season, will probly be a bit off the pace in the sprint/mile division as ive not been back to those games for a while now.
You have some nice stayers Keith, I thought Just A Dane was getting on top of Over Undrs a furlong out but he was well outstayed in the end.
Cheers for running the trials and well done to everyone, not much between alot of trainers and the league wont be dominated by one or two like it has been previously.

 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
I didn't get round to entering either but just wait, I will be UNLEASHING THE DRAGONS. Then you'll see domination!
Start date is as soon as possible. Waiting on the technical side I'm afraid.

Its a lot of fun and many trainers will offer help and advice along the way if you want it. Everyone starts somewhere mate and I know many of us would like to see you in the league.

 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
The league will have top trainers who's horses will contest all the G1's and then there is the guys in the middle maybe nicking a listed race and aiming horses at big handicaps. There are also other handicaps in the schedule and these races are always contested by the newer trainers as they get used to both the game and breeding for the league as well as the league itself. The experience you gain is invaluable for next season and Im confident you will get a winner this one too. Everyone starts somewhere and the trainers at the top have been playing for years or many seasons and/or have a lot of time to play the game. Not everyone does have the time but that should not put you off, a win is a win! Rich has posted in the schedule thread what your ideal stable would be and you should aim to replicate that. I wouldn't worry so much about 3yo's though as they 4 and 5yo versions of the same horse will be better in handicaps which is likely to be where you will be aiming. And thats where I started and I know PJR did too. So get your horses in or I'll be offended

 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
I would echo those thoughts, if it was just the best horses racing against each other it would be boring. The fun is seeing how different people play the game and the horses they bring to the table.

 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
well said matt my 1st season (not long ago) my horses were getting trounced then out of the blue i nicked a handicap went on to win the november handicap and i really didnt have a clue what i was doing we were blind then (no scatters guide god bless him) this has helped a lot of trainers to see where their levels are use the guides and place horses accordingly.

 Re: SO5 Trials Racecard
Thanks for running these Matt. Well, my wonky donkeys were not quite as bad as I expected after only 8 seasons of play! After taking redundancy at the end of last year, I was preparing to put hours and hours of work into the league and get back to the days of my Dave Fuller bashing league standard (whatever happened to him btw?!). However, as with all my great plans, this one was doomed. After a few months of sitting twiddling my thumbs before SO5 came out, I stupidly found another job and have hardly had any time to play Only 2 seconds off the pace in most of the trials!! - God help you all when I get some time on my hands again!
