Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
Not a bad day for me.
Bullfighter came a brilliant 3rd in West Yorkshire Hurdle. My first placing in a graded race.
One World (8th) - Pretty good from the 2nd season hurdler, hopefully a decent season from my best horse last year.
Theodore and Makng Champs had promising runs.
The others were pretty awful but hopefully will have decent handicap careers.
P.S. Do grade 1/2 winners from last get penalties in grade 2s this season? I noticed Monzaalah didn't in the Charlie Hall that's all

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
race 11 Jungle Book 5th - Outpaced worrying signs as this was over 2m1. Will probably need it softer Race 12 Secret Paths 2nd - Finished strongly but winner had too big a lead race 13 Mystic Beat 1st - Enters the Gold Cup frame with battling win. Will decide closer the time who runs Vertigo or Mystic Beat race 14 Red Revolt 4th - Race was always going to be too short but Del looks like he has some good stayers race 15 Island Rhumba - Pathetic but looks like there are some strong challengers to Paul's bumper horses this season race 17 Wall Street - this horse trials well but has been shocking so far. Well done to Paul Rhodes winning with Paul Rhodes race 18 Bad Company 2nd - Davy's horse was far too good and never looked like getting beaten race 19 Red Queen 1st - 2 from 2 and for a horse that wants 3 miles this is brilliant. She has a bright future race 20 German Spy 3rd - The winner Greenbank Park s now 2 from 2 and looks likes a star Good day for me with 2 winners. Particularly Red Queen

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
R11 Project Rage (1st) - Off the mark at last and with a horse uploaded as something of an afterthought. Soft ground suited but the trip was a bit of a worry. He won well in the end but not sure he would have got home in front on a stiffer track. R13 Jupiter Island (9th) - My 3m+ chasers have been desperate so far and this one was just as bad R14 Champagne Diva (12th) - I had big doubts about the trip and, as expected, she didn't stay. Even so, she was beaten a fair way out. R15 Lone Soldier (2nd) - Ran another cracker behind Blow who was much too good again. R17 Out For A Walk (7th) - The last furlong found him out but really pleased with the run and confident he can win a race or 2 over 2m4f this season. R18 Free Ride (7th) - Didn't stay. R19 Tumbledown Wind (2nd) - Raced wide into the straight which didn't help his cause but still managed to get much closer to Red Queen than in week 1. Good run. R20 Humble Spirit (8th) - Really poor effort again, this time over fences. Well done all winners and placers. Roll on tomorrow.

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
Delighted with the debut of Another Champion, winner is 2 from 2 but I'm certain we will beat it over a further trip. 3 mile is prob too short for Another Champion. Alarica is about 3 length's better than Another Champion but both should compete in all the top 3 mile to 3 mile 4 chases. Green Door ran a great race in the G3 hurdle, just went off too fast and got reeled in late. Raccoon ran another great race and the step up to 4 mile 4 will suit for sure. Looking forward to Excalliber's debut tomorrow and my main champion hurdle hopes Progenta and No Space run.

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
Two winners but a lot of poor performances.
Grey Sombero unplaced, just abit of fun with him Brownhill Lass 6th, disappointed but Leon's horse killed her. West Tip pulled up, shocking display. Like a Butterfly another shocker in the bumper, might go chasing. Celtic Chief 4th in the graded race, Ok happy enough. Lady Cricket 1st, a lovely race by a lovely mare. Greenbank Park 1st, don't know how he won, 4 major Blunders, if his jumping holds up who knows whats possible.

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
A few worthy of a mention today (can't believe my flat team are performing much better than my jumpers at present)
Dry County 7th - decent start, hopefully national bound Running up that hill - good 4th considering a couple of errors, big handicaps coming her way Bang bang bang - bitterly disappointing 12th in the united house gold cup, definitely just handicapping for her then Champ in trouble - 7th in the Wensleydale listed chase. Could be a good horse this season
The rest are still running

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
After a few good runs yesterday with some places broke my duck with
Race21 Once Upon A Time (named after a Great Album) won the novices Hurdle Moth Ball run second in race 30
Cant wait to see Mubaah back in action this week back to defend his Florence Nightingale Chase Race 22 which he won by 10lengths last season before heading to Cheltenham to defend his Paul Moores Grade 1 Chase at the Festival see what Jimmy puts in the race he must have some good stayers.

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
not a bad start to the season for me with 26 runners making the first 5 so far although would like a few more winners. week 2 round up-
Blow(named after the Movie)- 1st-undefeated after 2 runs and looks a very classy bumper prospect Blazing Knight- 4th-out of my good stayer west hill dancer and is in the same mould, should be very consistent Champion-4th- my biggest disappointment last season as her jumping was terrible but a good solid run to start the season in the charlie hall Fondmort- 1st - was suprised to see this boy winning after smashing a fence at a crucial time and with no early pace in the race he showed a great turn of foot, should be a novice contender 2m5-3m Majestic missile-1st- didnt expect her to win as i thought my 2m4 hurdlers were very week but she battled very well octopussy-2nd- was an absolute freak stayer on the flat in game and looks like she is going to be a solid performer this season. ran well this week but she wants it a bit softer Red Warrior- 7th- another poor performance and i expected better from this boy but i think he could pick up a big handicap somewhere

Re: National Hunt : Talk Reaction Banter
R22 Silent Running (10th) - Worth a try at the minimum trip but pretty obvious after that he needs further. R23 Show Boat (11th) - Sunk without trace. Just hope it was the going cause that was too bad to be true. R24 Dyna Mite (13th) - Really poor effort from her too. Hope it was the ground for her as well. R25 Call The Tune (1st) - Didn't quite see out 2m4f on debut and was suited by the drop in trip. Prominent throughout and won well. R26 Duty Calls (3rd) - Promising first run. Should improve for another furlong and better ground. R27 Mr Prospector (4th) - Delighted with that as he will need at least 2m4f to show his best this season. R28 Grecian Urn (10th) - Outpaced both runs over 3m. Will step up in trip nto. R29 Tiny Feet (1st) - Did today what I expected her to do last week. R30 Costume Fetish (10th) - Trip was too short. Wants 2m6f. R31 Supersonic (8th) - Thought she would run well here but was given a bad ride.
Well done all winners and placers
