Post Donate and Draft Picking Open– Draft Order and How to Pick
Round 4 of the donate and draft races are now available and the draft order has now been finalized. There are 42 eligible trainers for the donate and draft. There is no obligation to compete in the draft but it is worth your while in more than one way. If you like the look of any of the horses as a possible stable contender or even as a decent horse to trial against to improve your own stable then no harm in bidding. Some of the better established trainers have done this in the past.

The bidding will operate from now until Sunday morning UK time. After that the draft will be run and shortly after the horse files will be sent to your email. Looking at the draft there are plenty of quality horses and even those down the bottom of the draft look likely of getting something decent. More often than not more than half of the trainers eligible in the draft pick nothing so don’t fret if you are down towards the tail end. It is more than likely only 10-15 trainers are actually bidding before you.

Most of you have provided an email and this email will be the one I will send the horse files to on Sunday/Monday. This will give you five days to trial them and decide whether you want to race them or not. You can bid for as many horses as possible and it is encouraged that you bid for a minimum of 30-50 horses to ensure you get a few selections.

The draft order is as follows. Congratulations to Dai for nailing the coveted #1 spot:

1. Dai Davies (daikiwi)
2. Tyler Cox (teejay)
3. Peter Calver (abu)
4. Oli Conwell (everton129)
5. David Smith (buckiejagsman)

7. Carl Torr (persianpunch)
8. Paul Rhodes (pjrhodes1970)
9. James Barnes (jbgb007uk)
10. Derek Thomson (derekthomson)
11. Brett Cox (coxy)
12. Ian Shortall (iandavid59)
13. Paul Hood (hoody08)
14. Tim Carnes (beau1935)
15. Fawzi Ameeruddeen (fawzi68)
16. Ste Farrow (nippa12)
17. Michael Bailey (michaelb)
18. Joe Gorman (joebhoy67)
19. Andy Sutton (sutty)
20. Darrell Denton (dennys stables)
21. William Morgan (coolmode)
22. Rachael Menke (prettydrake)
23. Nick Driver (nickdriver)
24. Nicolas Shevchenco (nicolasrc)
25. Asa Mclaughlin (amcl2007)
26. Stephen Fisher (shaka24)
27. Matt Haynes (redhead)
28. Anthony Murray (antjmurray)
29. Phil Watt (dmk316)
30. Liam Edmenson (shamawi)
31. Hayley Nutting (littlesaltee)
32. Vinny Gerrard (kniish)
33. Alan Fitzpatrick (alfitzpa)
34. James Trotter (whats up boys)
35. George Morgan (speedster591)
36. Kevin Hargreaves (greaver)
37. Andy Morgan (amorgan3105)
38. Paul Moores (laurelracing)
39. Steve Clarence (crazy)
40. Graham Douglas (dougzer)
41. Steve Maestro (leftylemas)
42. Barrie Devlin (bazdev)

As for selections, the draft works very much like an NBA or NFL draft. It has seven rounds. The round one the trainer with the #1 pick gets to pick first, 2 second, 3 third etc until the last person get his selection. In the second round picks are reversed. The #42 gets to pick first, #41 second…, In round three it goes back to #1, #2 etc, round four #42, #41… until all seven rounds have completed. The reason I said to select at least thirty horses is if you are down at #30 in the draft the likelihood your top ten picks would have already been selected is great. The more horses you select the greater the odds of you getting your full quota of seven horses. Remember there is no obligation to run these horses and you may want them purely as trial horses for example to develop your own stable.

How to select horses very simple. On the main menu you have a button called View DD Horses. You click this button and all the horses that competed in the D&D draft are shown. On the right hand side there is a Add to DD List button for each horse to select it as a draft pick. You click on this button and its added to your list. You can select as many horses as you want. Selecting a horse is a very quick and easy process and you can select 50 horses in 5 minutes with the new process. This screen has the form of the horses over the four races so you can quickly see if a horse is good or not by scanning its formline.

If you wish to review your picks, delete some picks or change the order of some picks you can do this by going to the main menu and clicking the Show DD Order button.

Such races won by D&D horses in the past are the BC Classic, Donn Stakes, English Oaks, BMW Stakes, SOPL Sprint, Queen Anne Stakes and Lockinge Stakes. Good luck with your bidding and hopefully you can win a big one with your selection.

Remember when selecting horses to take into account a number of factors. Did it like the track conditions, did the distance suit, did it get a clear run, etc.

Olicon, you are bidding for horses to join your stable as either runners or trial horses. Say there is a horse you like that impressed you from the draft. Something like ElNuke for example. #1 bids for Schuh Shine, #2 bids for Bad Jazz, #3 bids for Spinning Wild. That means at #4 you have your pick of all the remaining horses in the draft.

The Add to DD List simply adds horses you are interested in to your list. You can pick as many as you want and you will be given the top 7 available horses, provided you have 7 in your list that havent been picked by trainers with picks earlier than you.

If you click the Show DD Order button from the main menu it will list all of your picks.

SilentAce, no probs, can drop you in at 43
