Post Re: LUCKY 63 NOW OPEN
I have never bothered with the Lucky 63 before but thought I might give it a try.

The only problem is I don't know the betting rules for the competition. I am pretty sure newcommers will not know what this competition is either.

I did a quick search of the forum but couldn't find an explanation of the competition.

Would it be possible to sticky something about how competition works? This would help any newcommers as well as us old hands.

Is it only winners that count or do placed horses win anything? If placers don't count, betting some of the the more fancied horses would be better rather than an outsider.

How much is each bet? How much can be won, are the horses odds taken into consideration?

I note that I have -63 for winnings after choosing horses in week one. How are unsuccessfull bets calculated?

It's a £1 stake Lucky 63 Bet Jim so your total bet is £63.00 You don't bet on real Horse Racing Jim?

Only Winners count so you are -£63.00 after week 1 like me if you get profit it would go Plus The winner at the end of the Season get's extra slots in in the stables second will get to choose 1 extra Slot in which stable they want one.

Anybody can play they dont have to be a league trainer.

Haven't a clue what a lucky 63 bet is. Never placed a bet on a horse. The closest I have gotten to a bet was picking a horse out the hat in the works sweep for the big races like the National or Derby.

I can't recall the last time I watched a horse race. It was probably the National, but would be during the time of Red Rum I think.

I know many of the people who play SO7 are horse fans, but for me it is just a computer game. I started playing SO3 by chance, just as an alternative to Championship Manager, ( the forerunner to Football Manager).

I am playing golf tomorrow morning with a friend who is a big horse racing fan, I will see if he can explain a Lucky 63 bet to me.

Thanks Gray
Jim

It's 6 selections

5 x singles on each horse
15 x doubles (any 2 from the 6)
20 x trebles (any 3 from the 6)
15 x 4 fold (any 4 from the 6)
6 x 5 fold accumulators (any 5 from the 6)
1 x 6 fold

If you get 3 winners, you have;

3 £1 singles on each
3 £1 doubles
1 £1 treble

this is continued with the more winners you have. Not sure if this helps but hopefully
