Post US Season 4 Week 01 Race 08 Easterside Maiden Review
This Review is dedicated to EPW. Hope he comes back.

A lot of hard luck stories in this race but you can’t deny the winner. This was the most exciting race for me in the US League although I haven't really checked them all out properly.

1st Danger Moon - B3; 54.5kg
Started well and found the fence early settling midfield and making a sustaining run about 900m out but had the worst passage possible being held up multiple times. But when he saw daylight about 400 out stormed up to the leader Maldivian and headed it to win on the line. What a Gutsy effort, never giving up. This horse is something special. One of the best runs by far out of all the US races with the possible exception of Dragonmount. The one to follow.

2nd Maldivian - B10; 53kg
Started from gate 10 compared to Gate 3 from the winner but would not have made a difference as it had an easy passage through out with being held up only slightly 900m out to try to snatch the race. Dashed to the lead 600m out but could not overcome eventual deserved winner Danger Moon. Keep safe.

3rd Flying Spirit - B(1); 54.5kg
Started well but went back early and was found too far back before making a solid run about 550m out making ground on the leaders. Very good horse who if was a little closer would have troubled the leaders more. Keep safe.

4th Twice Over - B5; 54.5kg
Missed the break and was well back but shortly after was gradually moving forward. Made its run from near the rear of the pack on the last turn about 600m out where it would have given some ground on the leaders. An inside run and would have been a lot closer. Good horse, keep following.

5th Dragonmount – B9; 54.5kg
Started well and found the fence 1500m out. Blocked for a run a few times at a vital stage of the race when it was making its run from the 700m to 200m, where it lost several lengths but when saw daylight made ground quickly to gain on the leaders. Would have gone close. Definite one to watch at its next maiden start. Keep very safe.

6th Nightmares In Berline – B8; 53kg
Started well and took the lead and looked the goods mid race. Just left its run a little late allowing Maldivian a short burst at the 700m mark allowing that horse to be 3 lengths in front. But once knuckling down made steady ground although was no match for the eventual winner Danger Moon. Keep safe.

7th Queen Of Denmark – B7; 53kg
Started well and was travelling well in a handy position but just like Nightmares In Berlin just left its run a little late. Good performance and keep safe.

8th Ayuna Tara – B13; 53kg
Blew its chances at the start by missing the break but kept coming to lead until about 600m out and could not hold out the challengers. Made ground late again to be not too far away. Considering it lost 3 lengths at the start and started from gate 13 it was a huge run. Has not gone unnoticed and will be defiantly in the calculations next start.

The following would need to show more, Brilliant Light, Blue Thunder, Cyanide, Amoristic Road, Gingers Have Souls, Asset Brew & For Sherry.

The ones definitely to follow out of this race in no particular order are:

1. Danger Moon, 2. Dragonmount & 3. Ayuna Tara
