2400m on the dirt at Delaware

1st Francine B7(7); 53kg
Fantastic staying performance and broke the track record at 2.33.43. Since was last most of the way till about 400m out were it made its move to challenge the front runners. Burst through last 50m powerfully to claim the lead with nothing challenging it. Horse to follow.

2nd Lirael 6(7); 53kg
Had to give some ground away at first turn as it raced 4 and 5 deep and then settling in a handy position till it made what looked like a winning move as it bust to the lead 400 out. Looked the winner till the final 50m where it was overtaken by Francine the eventual winner. If it had started from a near gate would have been a lot closer. Big chance next start.

3rd St Daarat B4(7); 54.5kg
Pleasing effort as it raced from near the back and got a slight block at the 1200m mark but didn’t start making ground on the leaders till about 400m and got checked when about to challenge Lirael. Never would have beaten the winner Francine but pay to follow.

4th Amizette Afleet B2(7); 54.5kg
Encouraging run, and led for most of the race till 450m out but could not hold out the first three. Was passed by Alicyias Pearl but fought back doggedly to take back 4th place. Wasn’t far from the winner. Keep safe.

5th Alcyias Pearl B1(7); 53kg
Nice even run as it tried to go forward about 1200m out and made its move about 400m out with Lirael but couldn’t match that horses pace. Kept fighting so keep safe.

6th Sword of London B5(7); 54.5kg
Even run. Found itself mostly in a forward position and raced well and managed to hit 2nd 300m out only to relinquish its position as it couldn’t quite match it with the place getters with 100m to go. One to consider.

Copy Kat just lacked a bit of quality so look for her with a weight advantage

One’s to follow:

1. Francine, 2. Lirael, 3. St Daarat
