UK Season 12 Week 01 Race 22 Thommo Beggan Maiden

1st Polar Falcon (K Robertson) B8(15); 54.5kg
Powerful colt that broke the track record and found with the leaders early. Then was left standing when Native Drive made its move at the 800m mark. Fell 2 lengths back but composed itself and gathered the leader effortlessly only to be blocked at the 300m mark but once out, kept stride for stride with the leader the last 250m to finally pip him to the post. Could have gone another furlong and has group 1 written all over him.

2nd Native Drive (scatters) B4(15); 54.5kg
Started well and found the fence early from a good gate. Made his move at the 800m mark and appeared to snatch the race as it looked strong till the last 100m were it weakened and found the winner Polar Falcon fighting on. Had run of the race but still a very smart horse which took a track record to beat him.

3rd Warp East (FiXiT) B5(15); 57.5kg
Started well and raced midfield till the 700m mark when asked to go forward and loomed up as the likely winner about 400m out till it died on its run 150m out but hung on to 3rd place. Keep safe.

4th Post Op (S Richards) B14(15); 54.5kg
Started from a wide gate on the turn thus giving a little ground. Found itself midfield and looking for a forward position at 750m mark. Raced wide at the home bend trying to make ground on the leader but found him too slick. Was close enough 300m out but couldn’t reel in the leaders. Keep safe.

5th Safari Desert (Hemz) B9(15); 54.5kg
Started well and was in a handy position early. Tried to go with Native Drive when he made his move and did so for a short while but could not sustain his run. Battled on and was not too far away. Good run. Consider.

The others found two smart ones in Polar Falcon and Native drive. Consider North Light, Fly BY Ry, Not All About You & Abrasive Sword in your place calculations.

Look for Gabber Lad, Gin And Tonic, Banagher, Western Spark, Lucius Vorenus & Rip Van Winkle with the weight advantage in upcoming races to be right in it.
