 UK Bookmaker For Week 3
There was no bookmaker for the US week 2 in TOM!!
Please let there be a bookmaker for UK week3 in TOM!!
Dubai festival is on.
So please someone do it, if not i'll give it a try. Maybe do half of the races and someone else can do the other half etc.

Hi Paul,
There were 2 bookmakers doing alternative leagues but for some reason the US was not done. I would expect this weeks UK bookie will now do US as they change every week. So need to check with Rich about whats going on.
But yes would appreciate your help.
Thanks

liam will be doing uk odds, he does every week
him and conor were going to alternate us weeks, but conor went missing last week - conor was going to do nhc odds.
so week 3 there will def be uk odds from liam, and nhc odds depends on if conor returns. if not paul could give us some odds again, though i feel i may not be able to bet on mine!!

Sorry guys, been at november handicap meeting.
Yes, I'm still here. Plan to have UK odds up before 1pm tomorrow as per...
It is my week US too, so I can do it unless someone wants to become the full-time US bookmaker - though you would have to ask/confirm with Rich.
And I think someone jumped in night before NH races this week to put some odds up because Conor has gone AWOL as far as I know :-/

thnx Liam...
yes i gave some odds for NHC this week
and if u r doing the US odds thats fine....as well as UK
and Ryan i am pretty genourous when it comes to odds
very rarely do i put up odds on prices as it aint really real money..lol
and if an owner likes to put some dosh on his horse
odds against is better don't u think?
the poor odds on Scatters this week being a prime example
had 5 winners of his in a goliath
and just about made some money from it
tho if Eurythmic had just held on i would have made a good return
gl this week guys whom ever u r k?
Paul

I know it's not real money, but the odds reflect its chances of winning - as you said he had 5 winners! Until someone can start at least competiting with his horses so maybe a draw bias or bad ride may get his beat to give bigger odds, I can't justify making the who came instant millionaires!

Also...
The US league. If someone would do it full-time, i'd prefer that than myself to do it every other week. But if no on is willing, I will continue as long as I can but UK will always be my priority

Liam, is it hard to be a bookmaker, as Im considering doing the US league. I'm not sure I have the time though as I will be doing comms (I hope) and doing reviews/previews etc.
Is it easy to enter details into TOM and is there some formula you use to get the odds for horses. As you can see I know nothing about bookmaking

I would be interested in being the bookie for the USRA but is there enough interest in the betting side of the league, as there are just a handful of trainers that have a bet, I'll e-mail Rich.

Fantastic Kenny!!!
I really think there should be some rewards and or bonuses for the top 2 or 3 money earners through TOM betting so as to promote more activity.
What do you think Rich? Maybe next season?

It was a bit baffling in the first week, with it being my first week and 20 races of unraced horses
But now, you can give quite accurate prices to be fair, as the bare ratings give you a good guide. And when you get an unraced horse, I go by how well known the trainer is; if you have an unraced horse i'd put it in shorter than say a newbie like one of my unraced horses...
The odds take me about a solid 45 minutes when i'm up and had a brew and breakfast on Sunday mornings. It just gets a bit mundane when I did 20 races in UK then had 18 to do in US to be honest, especially as I don't really have an interest in it. I only have just have put 2 stragglers in their for slight interest...
You just put odds in decimal format against the horse name, press update and go from race to race in the dropdown menu like you would when looking at a race when entering a horse, so that side is also easy enough to do.
So in short, even though it's too late to be short... You need about 40-50 minutes spare between Sunday-Monday/Tuesday (to allow people to bet)

Galleon would beat her in the Sheema Classic, I will find a race for her and hopefully they will meet again.
I think you will clean up at the World Cup meeting.
