Post UK Week 3 Race 3 G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen
UK Week 3 Race 3 G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen

1200m
From the 1200m start there is a 550m back stretch in which the horses can jostle for position before the turn of 300m (yes it seems quite sharp). If trapped 4 and 5 wide or worse, it could be costly. Leaving a 350 home stretch to the post. So it is important for the front runners and handy horses to start well and be no worse than three deep with midfield runners a little less important as long as they find a place close to the fence. Back markers ideally will need to make their runs inside with clear running.

Alto Sax (Rich Coats) B1 60.5kg
First up 3rd 1 length behind winner Gilgal over 1200m giving that horse 4.5kg advantage racing in midfield. Last start won against same horse by 1 length carrying 1kg less. Very competitive with the weight advantage but is one of the top weights in this race carrying 58kg. Place chance.

Empire Rose (DogyDave) B4 59kg
First up 7th 2 lengths back from winner Roya but raced wide throughout. Raced in the pack and gave that horse 3kg advantage and was a good effort considering. Last start 6th to winner Smolensko giving that horse 2kg advantage and 2 lengths behind. Little disappointing last start although gave weight to place getters. Looks tougher here as well since its giving weight again. Outsider

Joni Wikabe (dukinliam) B6 60.5kg
Last start 7th to Heroine over 1000m racing from a back position being 2 lengths behind the winner. Nice effort since was making steady progress to the post. Is giving weight to others here but distance might suit. Place.

Kaapa Dancer (P Hogan) B8 56kg
First up 2nd to Favelon beaten by ¼ lengths racing in a handy position. Was blocked a couple of times at crucial stage of the race and was a mighty effort to only just go down. Clear running and would have probably won. Last start 3rd from widest gate and raced 6 and 7 deep throughout to only be beaten 1 ¼ lengths to winner Smolensko. Right in this.

Kincharm (Sir Paul ONeil) B10 60.5kg
At only start 15th to Freedom Fighter over 1400m travelling in a handy position but faded badly. Giving weight here and can’t see him in this on last performance. Outsider.

Magnum Power (J Gorman) B2 59kg
At only start raced handy finishing 5th to Roya 1 ¾ lengths behind but raced 6 and 7 deep at the turn costing it any chance in the race. Gets barrier 2 here and will be in the mix as it wasn’t disgraced last start. Respect.

Oodle (D Robertson) B3 57.5kg
First up 2nd to Roya racing in a handy to midfield position. Very close that day and last start 2nd to Smolensko just failing again. Both runs impressive and has inside barrier again here. One of the chances.

Pink Filter (FiXiT) B9 56kg
First up good 3rd to Favelon 1 length behind racing in a forward position and last start 4th to Roya 1 ½ lengths behind in the heavy going. Not too far away. Respect.

Roya (scatters) B11 56kg
Unbeaten filly going for hat trick that races in a handy position. Has quality but only concern is the wide barrier which could be her undoing. Top chance.

Usain Bolt (bilbobaggio) B7 60.5kg
SOPL season 11 horse getting its first start this season. Raced with some big guns last season and performed well. Likes to race in a handy to midfield position. Only disadvantage would be that it is giving more weight this season as a 4yo unless it has come on from a 3yo to 4yo. Would not be surprised.

World Siege (Anadin) B5 57.5kg
Only start 9th to Roya well beaten racing in the pack on heavy going. On that performance could not include here but heavy track could be its excuse for its poor performance. Outsider.

Tips
With up to 7 horses racing in a handy or front running pattern Roya will make the first turn 7 and 8 deep costing it the race. It will need a lot of luck from out there.

1. Kaapa Dancer
2. Oodle
3. Magnum Power

Dark Horse Usain Bolt
