 Cheltenham races
http://www.sopl.info/files/tom/season12 ... week12.zip
Massive file this week so there is a link for races only, no comms here ( http://www.sopl.info/files/tom/season12 ... eek12a.zip )
Technical issues mean that some comms weren't able to be done, Scatters volunteered to do a race so we have an alternative Gold Cup commentary for you as well (just change the file names)

Newcorp Lad (Arkle 4th): Very pleased with this one. Looked like he was going to stay on coming to the last, but was outpaced. Very relieved he placed.
I Hear Melodies (William Hill 8th): Bit disappointed, but she just didn't get home. Step down in trip next time
Times Two Turkey (Cross Country 6th): Again fairly pleased with this position. Was very doubtful she would stay 3, 7 and it seems like she didn't, but she ran a good race
Waiter Waters (RSA 9th): Got badly outpaced at the end. Was expecting more considering her Feltham win, but thats racing
Aeropasser (Peter O'Sullivan 11th): 4 miles is far too short. 4, 2 is the least he needs, so not too bothered
The Vics Head (Ryanair 2nd): Very happy to see him run on like that. Shame the race isn't half a furlong longer
Hurricaneruns Twenty Hotels (Racing Post 8th): Far too much weight to even figure in this one. 12:00? Give me a break. Bring on the real handicapper for next season
Back Bar (Petempts 4th): Very very surprised to see her place like that considering the form numbers. Pleasant.
Dixton Star (Kim Muir 3rd): That was so heart breaking to watch. I though she was FINALLY going to get a win, but in the end was out stayed. Again: heart breaking.
Man Made Star (Bartlett 6th): Not too surprised with this result. Not the right race
Butler (Gold Cup 5th): Absolutely chuffed with this. Knew she would run a good race and did just that
Eighteen Carrot Love Affair (Foxhunter 3rd): Finished 3rd, but was awarded 4th? Strange. Anyway shame i couldn't bag this one 2 years in a row, but got another good run in there
Dixton House (Johnny Henderson 10th): No big shock here.
Over all, although it was another winless festival for me, but i am very pleased with some of my performances. Plenty of place money and good showings.

3 decent performances from my lot, 1 shocker
Zara (Arkle 3rd) - No chance with the winner but plugged on well for 3rd
Red Rooney (RSA 2nd) - Wasn't going to be suited by the ground but a costly mistake 2 out ended his chance. In the end the winner jumped superbly for a comfortable victory.
Pickpocket (World Hurdle 1st) - Very slow pace, bit of a boring race really but won nicely enough. A good jumping performance again proving the difference.

Shot most of my stable, so it left me with 2 horses to run for my first ever Cheltenham in the league.
AL SYLAH fell in Peter O'Sullivan. No real surprise, either runs well and places or falls the horse - today it fell. Will now go for the Grand National.
Jewson Novice Chase provided my other runner ME RI DAR an opportunity to give its running. Me Ri Dar ran very well, making progress from the rear on turning away from the stands and jumping without any mistakes throughout, apart from 3 or 4 slower jumps, including at the last which made him drop from first to fourth over the last, and stayed on up the run-in.

Well done winners and placers.
Just a couple of 3rds for me this week, Ivy Elizabeth in Coral Cup and Queen Madness in Jewson Novices.
Great comms by all the lads, really added to the excitement.

G I Jane!!!!!
My first group/Grade 1 winner in the league, as soon as the ground was good or better I knew She had a serious chance, Hence my £20000 e/w bet at 38/1!!!
she was 5 lengths adrift at the back of the field with 5 furlongs to go, then she sprouted wings and there was no stopping her!!!
Tal Mal run
3rd in the david nicholson hurdle, another super run, Stayed on well for 3rd.
3 horses entered, a 1st in a G1, a 3rd in a G2 and a bob-bar run from back to black........Still I am OVER THE MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
