MIDNIGHT VALLEY STABLES

ALBANIAN CLOUD - 5yo Bay Gelding
King Treasure - Albanian Sea (Voleric Sea)
A well bred son of King Treasure who did everything on the track in style, has been tried over fences at home but is a natural hurdler and will be kept to the smaller obstacles in the league. His trip will be between 2m2f-2m3f, and I expect him to win races throughout the season, especially when the ground is quicker than soft.

ANDIAMO ROCK - 5yo Bay Mare
Galaxy Rock - Without Andiamo (Without Talk)
A real choicely bred individual who has been creating a lasting impression in her homework. All the signs point towards a Gold Cup campaign but she does stay further than that distance, so could possibly take in the Hennessy en-route. She is very classy and I expect her to go very close in the Cheltenham Gold Cup this season and it'll take a remarkable performance from her rivals to beat her.

ARTISAN HARBOUR - 5yo Grey Mare
Moscow Harbour - Acquisition (Tastahil)
She's out of a mare by my Doncaster Cup winner Tastahil, by a multiple Arc winner in the game. She has done everything in style in the game and has a lovely attitude and an excellent pedigree. She is a hurdler, and will be aimed at the Warfield Mares Hurdle and could potentially end up in the World Hurdle if Waabesh doesn't cut ice at his advancing age.

ARTISTIC CLOUD - 5yo Bay Mare
Hi Cloy - Artistic Jewel (Invincible Soul)
From a very good family and is bred to be a chaser and in fact doesn't jump fences very badly and could end up in a mares chase over the minimum distance before the season is over. Goes very well in NHF races and was uploaded with those in mind, and should win a few along the way.

BIG BRUCE WILSON - 9yo Bay Gelding
Wells Lyrical - Rosebud Soul (Soltaat)
Lovely late-maturing chasing sort who will be campaigned at some of the 'National' handicaps this season. He isn't the best horse I've got in my stable but I think he could be up to winning a big handicap providing he gets a decent weight - hopeful of a good run throughout the year.

BIG IMPACT - 5yo Bay Mare
Voleric Musir - Deep Blue Castle (Deep Blue Sea)
Lovely big stamp of a mare and jumps fences well, and hails from a top class family. Her sire Voleric Musir was prolific over two miles on the flat, and over two and a half miles over fences in game, whereas Deep Blue Castle was better over further when tackling the larger obstacles - this mare will require three miles and should go well when the mud is flying.

CASTLETOWN ASPECT - 8yo Bay Mare
Castletown Lyrics - Aspect Point (Galaxy Rock)
Out of a full sister to my gold cup hopeful Andiamo Rock, she wasn't as good as her sister was on the track but has produced a real beauty here in Castletown Aspect. Seems to stay all sorts of marathon trips and is quite versatile trip wise. Only thing she requires is some juice in the ground and she will be starting off in a Listed chase over 4 miles in week 2 - we have high hopes for this one.

CASTLETOWN LYRICS - 7yo Bay Gelding
Gripsholm Lyrics - Deep Blue Castle (Deep Blue Sea)
Isn't the fastest in the yard but jumps beautifully, is a half brother to Big Impact and Thomasgainsborough but inherits plenty of stamina from his sires side. Will be aimed at handicaps at around three and a half miles, and should be competitive but this is an area I am weak in.

CASUAL TRANSGRESSION - 6yo Bay Mare
Casual Conquest - Imperial Transit (Imperial Monarch)
This mare is a nice laid back sort who performs well in soft ground, she is a chaser through and through and has been going well in trials at home. She is by a very good flat campaigner in Casual Conquest and out of a decent chasing mare - she will win races.

CHALLENGER DU LUC - 6yo Bay Gelding
Imperial Monarch - Big Impact (Voleric Musir)
A late addition to the stable, and has taken the place of recently retired Last Leader who sadly picked up an injury in training. This horse trials very well at right handed tracks and is pitched straight into Grade 3 company for his first run of the season. He is closely matched with Casual Transgression at home and I expect this horse to be winning races this season, and is named after a real life legend of the sport.

EXCELEBRATION - 6yo Bay Gelding
Canford Cliffs - Djebel Ali (Zarinishi)
Uploaded with faster ground two mile chases in mind, seems to go well at majority of tracks and his big asset is his jumping, it is immaculate. He stays the minimum distance well and should have little trouble picking up a race or two this season, he is as game as a pebble.

GIANT SERAPIS - 5yo Grey Mare
Grands Crus - Serapia (Scorpion)
Didn't realise she was any good until earlier this evening when running through some trials for the fairer sex. Ideally she would want a bit further than two and a half miles, but we have the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle in mind, and a race over a furlong further at Aintree and I think she'll go well in both, but not sure where we stand in regards the opposition.

GRANDS CRUS - 5yo Grey Gelding
Deep Blue Sea - Artisan Harbour (Moscow Harbour)
Out of an awesome mare who will be tackling the World Hurdle distance in the league this season, he hails from a regally bred family. He is bred for two and a half miles over hurdles but tends to stay a couple of furlongs further so looks like we have room for manoeuvre with him, he is a classy recruit like his daughter and her son, and is another grey capable of making his mark on the league.

GREAT ENDEAVOUR - 5yo Grey Gelding
Dublin Flyer - Giant Serapis (Grands Crus)
This one is a very nice sort who stays two and a half miles well. I had hoped he'd follow after his sire and be a lovely chasing sort but sadly he is too clumsy over the larger obstacles and is a natural fluent hurdler. Seems to go well at various tracks and I expect him to win a few big races this season, with the Aintree Hurdle his target.

HARDY EUSTACE - 4yo Chestnut Gelding
Zoffany - Amaretto Rose (Rip Van Winkle)
A very classy recruit who needs a strong pace to be seen at his best, he is best on galloping courses with a stiff uphill finish like Cheltenham and a race like the Triumph Hurdle is tailor made for him. Whatever he does prior to that is a bonus, but mark my words - he is a serious horse when getting into top stride, just tends to his a flat spot at a vital stage.

HOOLIGAN HOOLEY - 8yo Black Gelding
Waraqa - Rosebud Wells (Wells Lyrical)
Possibly takes the mantle from Rite Of Passage of being the slowest horse I've ever seen, needs a long trip and the 4m4f offered in the National isn't quite enough of a test. In reality he wants about 5 miles and he'll still be plugging on but I thought he had a cool name (named after one of our league trainers) and if he could get himself off a good rating, could plod past them all in 'The National' but its a work in progress.

HURRICANE SOUL - 5yo Bay Mare
Invincible Soul - Regal Form (Henrik)
This mare is one of my major players for the season ahead, and hails from my Juddmonte International (amongst other races) winner Regal Form. She exudes the class of her mother but has the lovely jumping abilities of her father and I thoroughly expect her to be winning top class chases over the minimum distance, and isn't a bad hurdler either - is devastating when the mud is flying.

LAST MONARCH - 6yo Bay Mare
Imperial Monarch - Big Impact (Voleric Musir)
At the moment this mare is shaping up to be my Gold Cup horse for the season. She jumps soundly and has an impeccable pedigree, and may well attempt to take in the Hennessy Gold Cup with her along the way, depending on handicap ratings.

MASTER MINDED - 6yo Bay Gelding
Invincible Soul - Thistle Bird (Treasure Beach)
A very smart horse like his name suggests, and magically enough (if you use Tommy's graphics) you'll see him running in his real life colours. He jumps sweetly and has a killer turn of foot, and his races will be cherry picked and is another top class recruit to the yard, and one of the flag bearers for the season.

MODERN SOUL - 5yo Bay Mare
Modern Harbour - Soul Mistress (Master Minded)
The second of my bumper horses for the season, and quite possibly saved the best till last. Trials really well, and is from a good jumping family, her sire has shown plenty of pace on the flat and I expect her to pick up a few prizes throughout the course of the season, with the main aim being the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.

ON BLESSED WINGS - 5yo Bay Gelding
Invincible Soul - Quevega (Mathias Goeritz)
This horse is a bit of a freak from a breeding perspective. By a two mile chaser out of an Ascot Gold Cup winner he has shown plenty of pace in trials and has a wicked turn of foot late on in his races. Doesn't get much further than 2m2f though, and seems better over hurdles but looks capable of mixing codes and trying some fences in due course, wouldn't be one of our leading lights but should pay his way.

PROSPECT PRINCE - 6yo Chestnut Gelding
Prospect Wells - Flagship Princess (Viking Flagship)
This is the horse I am most excited about and I believe he could potentially win me the race I'm after most this season, the Champion Hurdle. He trials well and hurdles like Istabraq used to in real life, lovely slick mover with a high cruising speed. He follows after his sire in many ways and will come into his own when he hits the hill at Cheltenham.

PROSPECT TIME - 5yo Bay Mare
Prospect Wells - Third World (Three Valleys)
A nice sort who loves soft ground. She will be contesting mares races this season and also possibly the Irish Champion Hurdle providing what ground it is. She goes very well over in the Emerald Isle and she will be winning races for me, a classy recruit against her sex.

PROSPECT WELLS - 5yo Chestnut Gelding
Hardy Eustace - Hurricane Soul (Invincible Soul)
Like his son is another classy recruit to the stable, and although he isn't quite as good he will pay his way this season. I have the idea of running him in the Greatwood Hurdle if he gets a realistic enough handicap mark, but may have to tackle Graded company if he performs above expectation.

PROSPECT WORLD - 4yo Chestnut Colt
Prospect Wells - Modern World (Modern Harbour)
Another nice young horse we have this season along with Hardy Eustace, not sure which one is better but this fella absolutely took off up the Cheltenham hill in a recent trials. Seems to be a little quirky though so remains to be seen if he puts it all in.

RED RUM - 9yo Bay Gelding
Wells Lyrical - Andiamo Rock (Galaxy Rock)
An exceptionally well bred horse who I gave this name to after the real life legend in the hope he'd be good enough to give me a shot at success in the National. At first glance he looks a serious prospect but is prone to the odd crunching mistake in his races. Absolutely loves soft ground and the longer the distance the better for him and if he gets himself rated accordingly, would have a big shout in the Grand National.

RITE OF PASSAGE - 9yo Chestnut Horse
Dragon Flyer - Voler La Vedette (I Swear)
I have genuinely seen milk floats faster than this fella, but he is all heart. Getting on in years I've had his son racing in the league the last couple of seasons (Wells Lyrical) and he's done well. Rite Of Passage stays longer than the mother in law, and will be keeping on when most have cried enough - whether he has the pace to pass them remains a mystery.

THOMASGAINSBOROUGH - 5yo Bay Gelding
Menorah - Deep Blue Castle (Deep Blue Sea)
A smart recruit entered with the Ryanair Chase in mind. He has Waabesh in his pedigree through his grand-sire and stays well, but unlike Waabesh has taken to fences a lot better than hurdles. However he is prone to the odd clunking mistake at vital times during his races, but make no mistakes - this one is a classy recruit to the league.

WAABESH - 7yo Bay Gelding
Rainbow High - Wabash (Rainbow Stripes)
Without doubt the apple of my eye, and I just had to bring the old boy back for another season (my last) to try and fend off the younger challengers to his World Hurdle crown. He has had a couple of niggling problems since you've seen him last and has lost a yard of pace (similar to Rio Ferdinand) but he still wants to run, and has an incredible will to win. I hope he gets it bottomless for the Festival, and I for one will be roaring him home in every race he runs in this season - he is the horse that got me into the thrills and spills of the NHC after years playing a flat only campaign.

WASSILY KANDINSKY - 5yo Bay Gelding
Ludwig Meidner - Respecttheocean (Zanzibar Ocean)
Finally this smart chasing sort should make his mark over fences at around two and a half miles. Doesn't seem to get the extra furlong that the Ryanair asks so will be kept mainly for the Melling Chase at Aintree a week later, but should get a few runs prior to that in some decent races, doesn't mind quick ground and likes to kick early and say 'catch me if you can'.

Thank you for reading.

LAST LEADER - 5yo Bay Gelding - RETIRED
Bregrawn - Last Monarch (Imperial Monarch)
He's a bit of a thinker this one, but when he is good there isn't many in the yard better than him. Shapes like a three miler chaser and doesn't want the ground too soft and should win races (if he wants to).

Post Re: Stable Tours - NHC
The late additions to the stable.

Aquila 5 year old gelding Sun Rising - Voice of Doom by Temple of Doom

Thrown in the deep end in his first race but he is top class and should acquit himself really well. 2 miles 4 is his optimum trip

Comtesse Caroline 5 year old mare Bartholomew Roberts - Spell by Jallad

Superior 17 furlong chaser. Will be very dangerous if given an easy lead.

Didgeredoo 5 year old mare Sun Rising - Magic Ritual by War Relic

Excited about her prospects and will be my Rynair entry. Very consistent and a brilliant jumper. The softer the better.

Dollar magic 5 year old gelding Dollar Bill - Magic Ritual by War Relic

Way better than Manifest who ran 2nd on debut. Ultra consistent hurdler gets 2miles 4 up to 2miles 6. Best on soft ground

Further Attacks 4 year old mare Gang Up - Overture by Task Force

Better than Overture ( 3rd on debut ) over 2 miles. Will be competing in the top juvenile races.

Guman 8 year old gelding Crystal Star Gazer - Smoking Gun by Smolensko

Will be handicapping over distances around 4 miles. Don't have high expectations. Jumps well though and needs it soft.

Prequel 5 year old mare Fight for Independence - Hierachy by Newlands

Flat bred hurdler. 17 and 18 furlongs suit best. Can jump fences so a few options available.

Prestigous 6 year old mare Sundance Kid - Mama Africa by Hard Drive

High expectations. Trounces all my horses over distances from 3miles 4 to 3miles 7 on all grounds. Seems fine in soft despite the firm in breeding. Won the grand national on heavy. Expecting big things. Very solid jumper. One of the stables best.

Secret Symbol 6 year old gelding Dothraki - Emblem by Hard Drive

Better than his sire Dothraki. Will be world hurdle bound.

Walkaway 5 year old mare Wop Bam Boogie - Gun Valley by Gunman

Multiple group 1 winning flat horse. Still holds my race record for the gold cup set on good ground!!! The best I've got and a brilliant jumper. Will hopefully be very competitive in the 3 mile races. The softer it is the better. Does get 3 miles 2 but have enough quality in the stable over that trip.
