Week 2 Race 17 Oh racing.net Maiden 2m4f Blancmange Finished last on debut. A similar result is likely Blood And Fire Debut from respected NH stables. The current stable form doesn't inspire confidence though and best to watch. Botticelli Stable has made an encouraging start to the season and has a gold cup entry. Mrs Clutterbuck Outpaced and finished along way off them on debut. Unlikely to improve for the extra furlong. Near The Start Stable form is poor and ground is unsuitable. No chance. Pro Vee Won Weakened on debut. Stable form is a positive though and can't be ignored. Spanish Buccaneer Midfield on debut on unsuitable ground. Many lengths to find with Von Jawlensky and ground still unsuitable. Treble Ninety Nine Raced freely on debut so may improve but ground against here means improvement unlikely. Von Jawlensky Solid second on debut from a stable in fine form. Strong chance. The majority of horses come from stables out of form or had poor debuts. Pro Vee Won ran well enough on debut for his in form stable and may improve. Von Jawlensky must have a huge chance after finishing second behind what looks like a top class horse Come Free us. However the selection is Botticelli who is been aimed at the gold cup and a maiden seems well within his range. Selection. 1st Botticelli 2nd Von Jawlensky 3rd Pro Vee Won Will add more after news about whether races will be split or not. |

Good stuff! Pro Vee Won is my Gold Cup hope, but it appears my stayers are still not up to par. I thought I had a couple of monsters in PVW and Teach Me, but they were rather ordinary in their maiden debuts. Keep em coming! |

Race 11 Performing Arts Maiden 1m7f Angies Oath Mare from veteran ex champion trainer making her debut. Stables horses have been thereabouts. Outside chance. At The Stake Stables 3 runners all ran well enough in the first week. Ground may be too quick here though. Dartmoor Misty Stable has made a poor start for the season. One for handicaps later in the season. Dimensia The extra furlong raises question marks after failing to hold on over a furlong shorter on her last run Ferris Wheel Held in high regard by stable and has a group 1 entry. Likely improver. Jamie Lannister Ground on the quick side here and doubts over the trip Jawdah Faded on debut to trail in last. Similar result the most likely outcome. Love Stare Stable form is astounding 10 winners 4 2nds and a 3rd from their last 15 runners on the flat. Will contest the finish. Pour Moi Never sighted on debut. Needs softer ground and handicaps beckon. Silver Quit Likely to down tools again and breeding suggests this is too far. Spring Craze American stable is firing in the winners. Ignore debut run as met all kinds of problems. Will go well at a price. Swept In Needs a road to be seen in best light. One to watch in handicaps when the ground quickens Unleashed Best watched from a stable yet to unleash its potential. Van Der Vaart Stable has made an encouraging start to the season. Doubt whether this drop in trip will suit though. Wish Again Excuses on debut, pulled hard but doubt he will feature here. Yeats Drop in trip may well suit after weakening over further. Doubt it will be enough though. The well bred Angies Oath needs to be watched for any betting moves. Dimensia ran well on debut and Ferris Wheel holds a fancy entry. Love Stare finished second on debut and the same is likely here as Spring Craze comes from an in form stable and met all kinds of traffic problems on debut. With a number of horses with pace in the race the faster pace could suit well. Selection 1st Spring Craze 2nd Love Stare 3rd Dimensia |
