Post subject:  CK Times To Beat

Jalupen's working towards breaking 1:10 gave me an idea for this thread. I've got a list of times that I've been trying to beat for the last 5 months or so. One has been reached but the others remain to be broken and I thought I'd post here and give everyone a chance of having the glory of breaking them. Please note these are the actual times run by the winner as opposed to approximate times for all runners.

At Ascot (usual conditions - good going 3 yr old + and OPEN i.e. males carry a 3lb penalty) and you have to do it at least twice :) with the same horse or 3 times with any number of horses. No freak times allowed here :P.

5f - 57:50
6f - 1:10:00
7f - 1:22:50
8f - 1:38:50
10f - 2:07:00
12f - 2:32:00
14f - 3:04:00

At Newmarket (usual conditions - good going 3 yr old + and OPEN i.e. males carry a 3lb penalty)
8f - 1:37:00
10f - 2:05:50

At Epsom (usual conditions - good going 3 yr old + and OPEN i.e. males carry a 3lb penalty)
12f - 2:29:00 (Done this one but if anyone else has done this post and show it off!)

At Doncaster (usual conditions - good going 3 yr old + and OPEN i.e. males carry a 3lb penalty)
14.5f - 3:05:00

UPDATE

For posterity I'm going to post some screenshots here as I haven't bred a horse since the 6/8/13 and more than likely I won't again given life changes.
Here are the fastest times I have seen in CK.

Class gives us all something to aim at

Can we add the Doncaster St Leger distance into this too also Andy?

I would but 1m6.5f is not one I test a lot at. And to be honest I can't remember what I do regularly and never really had a target to beat. I don't really breed a lot of 1m6 horses, the ones I have are the 1m4f horses that somehow or other ended up with a stamina bar for 1m6f+. Strange to say that given I won both St Leger's but also true.

Added a time for Doncaster to the list based on some of the times I'd saved in jpgs. This one is the one I'm furthest away from. Best I've seen is 3:5:30 but the caveat is I don't test much for this distance and it may well actually be the easiest to do aside from 12f at Epsom which has been achieved.

With the lge coming to an end this will be something to aim for
these times are going to be hard to beat but will be fun trying
the mile times are the ones i am targeting

i have stickied the thread

12f - So far my only success in breaking 2:29

Image

I've been doing a bit more breeding at this distance and I just get the feeling I am close to breaking this with multiple horses

This one has run 2:29 close on several occasions with this as the closest. Tasmettu has also clocked 2:29:03

No the winning time at the top shows 2:29:01

Why is there an inconsistency between the winning horse's time and the winning time? I never noticed the 'winning time' before, I always went by the time next to the horse

There just is. Mark could explain maybe. Something to do with rounding down or up? There can be quite a discrepancy. 2:29:36 could be shown as 2:29:2.

Can Matt or Andy or Paul post 2m and 2m4(4YO plus) times so people have something to aim for over the longer distances.

Weirdly enough I am closest to the 12f time 2.32:4 is what I do relatively often.

Post subject:  Re: CK Times To Beat

I don't have 2m4f times as I don't even have a horse that comes close to staying that far.

For 2m I know I've clocked 3:36 at Ascot but this is with a very small sample of no more than 20 horses and I have no idea if Matt is going faster.

Post subject:  Re: CK Times To Beat

I'm doing around 3.36 or faster as well. So Matt is probably best to post times for these distances
