Quite a few locals are predicting the turf course to be on the soft side, can't be good for Golden Horn?

If I may add my dopey opinion. I have finished handicapping the Breeders Cup card and am in the process of making selections and I am now looking at Gleneagles. If Racing Post ratings are reliable (not a student of them) and using the method that RPR Ratings are roughly 11 points higher than Beyer Speed Figures (I am an expert at reading those) - Gleneagles isn't close to where he should be figures wise that you would expect a maturing 3yo to be. Beyer Speed Figure wise he ended his 2yo season at 110. At this point he should be running 120's. His figures this year by race...

May 5 - 113
May 23 - 108
Jun 17 - 112
Oct 17 - 103

His last race if looked at as a prep you would expect him to run 10 points better the next race - 113. Something may be wrong with him and they may be tempting fate by pushing him or maybe he ran too hard as a 2yo. Still, if he ran a 113 in the Classic he would be near the winner against this competition.

American Pharoah also isn't running figures that are to be expected from him judging by what he did as a 2yo. He is vulnerable in my eye. He beat lackluster competition in his Triple Crown bid and he has the Dosage number of a sprinter.

Come on then lets have a little game. If he's retired on that performance what is his stud fee and if he was retired before that race. Let's see if they cost him as much as everyone is saying.

Before 45,000 euro after 20,000 euro

after the St James Palace stakes with a hypothetical win over his elders 60,000+

I see it was 60,000 euro's after all, I said 50,000 pounds so I was much closer. I think the moral of the story is never be scared to lose a race.

Yes and a few high end breeders think he is overpriced but he has that incredible pedigree

I think he will be better at stud than AP, I think freak horses struggle at stud.

Will be very interesting to see how Frankel's get on next year.

Heard from people in the know, that the Frankels are a bit disappointing but time will tell

I wondered why they were being sold at normal prices, I thought they were going to be sold for a small fortune. If I was a breeder I wouldn't send any mares to cover American Pharoah, I just don't think he has the make up. I think his horses will be plodders, he might be a great horse but he doesn't have the speed to pass on to his off spring.
