Winning Irish P2P 4yo Clean Sheet has joined Henderson's yard and is said to be one to keep an eye on in the spring in the Cheltenham/Aintree bumpers.

For me the jump season starts in two weeks time at Chepstow.

Back in the day(showing my age) Before the racing channels the first Jumps racing on tv was Chepstow's meeting normally the first Saturday in october. The Big race was the 3m Mercedes Benz Chase.

The first one I remember was in 1987 and that was Midnight Madness.

interesting read Duke. well done.

im most excited by Our Conor for the nh season ive won bets on him before all the bandwagon last year.

he looks like he has the potentail to be anyting.

wish Bryan Cooper still rode him though.

I also had The New One at cheltenham last year.

why bookies made TNO fav over Our Conor for the coming champion hurdle?

i rate him but how they rate him higher than OC?

they both will still have to beat Hurricane Fly :)

albeit OurConor has youth on his side now.

West Wizard is a very exciting novice hurdler, right at the top of the betting for the supreme, they really rate him. Had an anti post bet on him myself.

ive since heard Our Conor was ran in a flat race, odd thing to do to such a young champion hurdler type horse, guess they did it for fitness speed work? :) backfired. apparently he was bumped alot. puting jump horses in flat races to shake the cobwebs off may work to refresh an older horse but not ideal for young horse imho

You do know Our Conor was a flat horse that went hurdling? The run was to get him fit and take the freshness out of him I would guess. We'll find find out in three weeks if it worked or backfired.

And why wont Cooper ride him now?

yeh our conor looks like a flat type horse ,

the new owner who bought OC said theyd use their own jockey..

http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-ra ... t7DaysNews

mullins is not a bad jockey but why change the recipe if it aint broke? bryan cooper knows OC now works well with the horse o well thats owners and money for ya

I have my doubts about Our Conor beating Hurricane Fly, In my opinion the biggest dangers to Hurricane Fly come the Champion Hurdle could be The New One and My Tent Or Yours, I believe the latter could be seriously good if learning to settle that bit better. And we all already know how highly Twiston Davies rates TNO.

Hurricane is flying at home

Our Conner is a decent horse but would take HF over him everyday

Triumph hurdle winners tend to want further over their career and a lot need stepping up in trip the next season. However the manner of Connor's victory could make him the exception. The ground could also play a part in the build up and the race itself come March.
