Better late than never. Thought I'd throw my picks out there. Mere hours before the race is run.

2 - Snow Sky ~ Seems a very ambitious spot for this one. They must really like his chances. Gets Damian Oliver. 2400 his distance so this probably isn't a Melbourne Cup prep.

17 - Set Square ~ Two preps going short and then a sharp run going longer. Appears primed for this for a hot trainer and top jock.

4 - Our Ivanhowe ~ Finally showing the Euro form he once had. I'm a big fan of Ben Melham going long distances.

6 - Mongolian Khan ~ The favorite who I think is beatable.

16 - Gust Of Wind ~ Huge late rally is a thing of beauty. The sharp Caulfield course may hurt him.

Just putting my picks in here (cause why not)... I really like Hauraki in this spot and I use Grand Marshal as a price play (finally going to a favorable distance).

That horse is one hell of a stayer. Well deserved winner. My picks weren't disgraced. Snow Sky ran well against the rail and near a modest pace and stuck on well.

2 - Snow Sky ~ 5th?

17 - Set Square

4 - Our Ivanhowe ~ 3rd

6 - Mongolian Khan ~ 1st

16 - Gust Of Wind - 4th
