Sussex stakes
Lets hope they both turn up. Bookmakers are finding it hard to split the two it's basically 11/10 either. On betfair Frankel is slight favourite.
Track favors front runners meaning Frankel could be hard to peg back if they run him upfront as they have been.
Whats your views?

Not a fan of either horse but think i'll go with Frankel. Not saying they arent top class but just not taken a shine to them like i have others. I dont think Frankel will shoot off like he did in the guineas but he wont be far off the pace. His turn of foot is better than CC and if Frankels stamina holds out then he will win as CC finds very little off the bridle.

anyone no the weight allowance that frankel will get could be the difference
canford is top class better than ever and at the moment the worlds top miler
frankel is one of the most exciting guineas winners ever but this is the acid
test of any 3yo miler and he has it all to do but has the class to do it
Answer) Frankel with at least 4llbs allowance JUST to beat canford

Frankel's getting 8lb, i'd be suprised Canford Cliffs can give that much weight away.

both extremely fast horses, but been infatuated by frankel from the start. Think he just has a little more pace...

Frankel is a 6f horse with stamina for the mile so I don't really see how Canford can win unless Frankel doesn't settle.
What I really hope happens is that Queally gets to work 3f out, Hughes comes cruising up all arrogant like he did last year, shakes Canford up then Frankel turns on the gas and leaves him 5 lengths trailing.

TBH l want to see the Frankel and the Quelly from the 2000 guiness, the race has 2 hold up horses and 1 that might lead so although l thought he was wrong last time to do what he did with this field just letting Frankel go imo is perfect. If he starts trying to change what the horse wants to do that is when complications arrive.

The problem is he idles and that is what will get him beat by a horse like Canford. In the St James Palace Frankel did not tire in the last 2 furlongs, he ran exactly the same number of strides as the previous 2 where he made his move. I.e he never got out of 3rd gear to win a Group 1.
A horse idles when it doesn't know why it's running, the flight instinct gets it to the front of the pack and there it is deemed safe and can ease up. The older a horse gets the wiser it gets, you'll often see wide margin 2yo winners because they are still very green, gradually the margin will reduce until you've got 7 year old warriors who have to hit the front with 50 yards to go or it's too early!
To me the most striking aspect of Frankels form when the horse consistently beating long shots into 2nd and 3rd. Is it the horse getting lucky, or is it so good that only horses running for a place to start with get close. With Frankel I very much think it is the latter.

Awesome horse and some credit to Quelly great ride but why oh why do they want to now go to the Juddmonte?? Yes the prince has never won this race but when you obviously have an extra ordinary freak of a horse at 1 mile you need to test his boundaries?? Dont understand racing decsions sometimes, what would you like an unbeaten career over 1 mile races or a record with 1 loss in because you decided to try 1m2f?

Bred to stay, will stay, settles perfectly well now.
If he runs, he wins.
Why not go for it rather than taking on the same horses?
