Future Champions Day at Newmarket has a high quality card. 2 group ones, 2 group twos and 2 group threes plus the cesarewitch.

Day 1 at Royal Ascot is the only day with three Group 1 races.

Champions Day has five races that are run under G1 conditions, but at present only two of them are officially G1 races.

In terms of prize money then it has to be Champions day at Ascot. IMO the best day of flat racing in this country. Went last year and will go back year after year with 5 races effectively G1's.

I think the card this year will be even better with trainers/owners seeing how good last year was and targeting there best horses for a big payday at the end of the season.

Surprisingly the correct answer is future champions day at Newmarket. 6 group races, 2 group 1s, 2 group 2s, 2 group 3s and a heritage handicap it is the highest quality card, whereas champions day only has 2 group 1s, 2 group 2s and 1 group 3. Of course quality of horses at champions day are by far and away better and it can only be a matter of time before all races are group 1s, but still future champions day is for now better, Ben though British champions day should still be at Newmarket and I would rather have it over future champions day anyway, which quite frankly was awful last year.

I agree it wasnt great last year. I travelled down but because was bit disappointed with it i decided to go back for the Guineas this year. Im from the north west so as you can imagine its quite a distance. Going York for the Ebor meeting which is much closer to home and then am going down to Ascot for champions day in October. Has anyone else got anything planned?

I'm going down for day 2 of Glorious Goodwood and then will also be doing champions day at Ascot again. Not too long a drive from the midlands. That will be it until the jumps starts again and i try and do at least 1 day of all the Cheltenham meetings over the winter.
