Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby
Wrong about Chrome but was disappointed with the time 2.03.66, considering they only went a even split the time was poor.

Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby
Way to go California Chrome. A well deserved winner. His bond with Victor Espinoza is undeniable. They may never lose again. Danza had all sorts of troubles during the race and still ran well but was never going to beat the winner. Commanding Curve ran a monster race. As happens commonly when a race seems to have a ton of speed - all the speed decides to rate as to not kill your horses chance. Thus producing a relatively slowish pace.

Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby
Commanding Curve wins the Belmont? Save him for the Belmont. Skip the Preakness.

I think he will get better test's ahead of him including the three year olds, 4 of the better 3 yo didn't run in it Constitution-Honor Code- Cairo Prince but big question marks about them but next time Social Inclusion might be there and I hope Untapable runs against him, she was more impressive yesterday and ran a much faster race. Come on Untapable server it up to the boys.

Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby
I can't see it happening. The connection between Chrome and Victor seems way to powerful. The only barrier (to me) seems to be the Belmont distance which he will be forced to run in after he wins the Preakness. Commanding Curve will be tough in the Belmont because he has the build and superior 1 1/2 mile breeding. Surely Danza is totally spent after his effort in the Derby? Can't envision picking him (or anyone else) to beat Chrome in the Preakness.
The best competition for California Chrome will come in the Breeders Cup Classic against older horses at the end of the year.

I wonder what happened to Intense Holiday? He had so many things on the positive side going into the race.

Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby
I think u are underestimating untapable, watching her yesterday was like watching Rachael. She went quicker than Rachael and her time stands up with the best times. In a way it's good that she's with Asmussen because he not scared to take on the boys.
I hope he runs in the Preakness because I want to see him against Social Inclusion, that horse bounced last time and he's much better than that.

I thought he was to close to the pace but it was a slow pace, not good enough. I think the rest of the field will turn out to be average, u cant see anyone apart from Commanding Curve given Chrome a run at the Belmont. U couldn't say many of then stayed this distance.

Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby
As with many of the recent winners of the Triple Crown races it's more about their "diet" than their ability.
CC was not that impressive given the perfect route through the race and will be very beatable in the Belmont.
