SO7 own created racing schedule problem
Hey everyone, So I created my own racing schedule (I love doing that) but every single time I want to start a new game with my own created racing schedule the game crashes. The default racing schedule works perfectly fine and I am able to load a new game with the default racing schedule without any problems, but once I try to load a new game with the schedule I created it loads a bit and than it crashes. Are there any races that I should leave out that may cause the crash? Or is there a way on how I am able to find out what causes the crash?
Haven't played SO in a few years so I am not at all up to date anymore to what may cause crashes these days.

Re: SO7 own created racing schedule problem
Quick note. The game crashes only whenever I create a new jump/flat schedule. It doesn't crash when I create a full flat only schedule.

Re: SO7 own created racing schedule problem
There are a number of things that could be wrong.
You can use Notepad to look at and edit a schedule.
Did you use the schedule editor to create the schedule?
If you upload a copy of your schedule to a file sharing web site and put a link here, someone might spot what is wrong.
If you use Notepad to view the schedule you may see what is wrong. In combined schedules the turn of the year Dec\Jan can be a problem, also the start end of the two seasons.
My schedules look like this in Notepad.
[pool]16000 [fpoolperc]30 [secondary_nat]Ireland, North America, France start=170 end=169 start_flat=170 end_flat=169 start_jmps=2 end_jmps=169 1,5 Cheltenham International Hurdle 1,5 Cheltenham Grand Annual Chase
At the turn of the year I always put a race into the schedule near the end of the year. There is a bug in the schedule editor associated with the turn of the year.
12,6 Goodwood Goodwood Cup 12,6 Doncaster Doncaster Cup 12,29 Thirsk Thirsk Hunt Cup
You could manually add a race using Notepad at the end of the year and see if that fixes your problem.
Something else you try. You need to identify what is causing SO7 to crash so make a copy of your schedule and then use Notepad to edit the schedule. Delete all the races after the turn of the year and see if the schedule loads. If it loads do the opposite, use a copy of the schedule and delete all races before the turn of the year and see if loads. It is time consuming but you can use Notepad and copy\paste to slowly add races to the schedule and see if the schedule loads.
One last thought. Have you edited any of the Feature Races. There could be a mistake in that file.
Hope this helps Jim

[pool]16000
You have a pool of more than 9999 horses? Is this only possible in a jumps + flat schedule? Or is it possible in a flat only schedule?

If you use the built in schedule editor I think you can change the pool size via a box at the top of the screen. Not sure if there is a limit using the editor. My way is to Open the schedule via Notepad and change the pool size, no limit this way, make it 1800 if you want etc.. The larger the pool size, the larger actual save file so balance the two. Any changes will only apply to a new save, not an existing save. [pool]16000 [fpoolperc]30 [secondary_nat]Ireland, North America, France,Australia, Using the editor only gives one secondary nation, if you add some other nations and change the foreign pool percentage, fpoolperc, you get more foreign bred horses in the save. Sometimes the early gamebreds from overseas can be better than UK gamebreds. Jim

(I have one where I'm expanding all the big UK meetings so they include all the big handicaps)

(I have one where I'm expanding all the big UK meetings so they include all the big handicaps) I run my own schedules for the jumps and flat, i think its better to do it. My flat is my own US game i made up with lots of sharp 5 or 6 furlong courses, i think it helps to pick out front runner type horses. My jumps schedule is made up of UK/irish/french and Oz races. I turn a lot of races into group races so they stand out more when trying to buy them.
