Not really Duke.. I've always felt these records were flawed

Some are legit of course e.g. the 1m6f race which was the Yorkshire Cup

Some though are just wide open to manipulation e.g. the 5f record which was the Epsom Dash. Get a nice handicap run on hard going and with the right horse you can see some amazing times 8).

FWIW it's the league that's the true test.. and I'm pretty sure things are a lot closer than the records here would indicate (if my breeding and times I'm seeing are representative of everyone's experience). Actually, the time that leaves me in awe is breaking the 2:30 barrier at Epsom in CK as for the life of me I can't see how it is done.

I can break it with older horses by a good second or so, but with 3yo's it is proving rather troublesome.

See that's the thing. At 14f I haven't seen anyone really blow me away and I haven't run any horse past 3 years there. Maybe it's because folk aren't concentrating on that distance but at every other distance my 3 years old appear to be competitive unless of course folk are really keeping things under wraps. So I don't understand why the difference at 12f. Maybe I just have crap stock at 12f. Who knows?

Your 14f times are ridiculous. I haven't played at all during the summer but have picked it up over the last week and a half and played a few hours and I can just about hit 3mins dead with my 5yo's but closest I'm getting with my 3yos are 3min 1sec and higher.

From what I've seen I think you'll run away with the league once it returns, you must have put some hours in! Fair play.

I don't think that's likely. I know what times I'm seeing and looking around I see quite a few trainers there or therebouts. DocHay has certainly gone under 3 mins with a 3 year old so it's not just me. I really haven't put in as much time as you think. I've had my final professional exams recently and for the last 2 months running up to it I didn't get much time on SO5. Actually tbh I think I've spread myself a little thin trying to cover 5f to 1m and then also a little of 10/12f. If others have concentrated on a single distance then I think it will be a wide open league and I'll end up regretting not specialising more!

That's very impressive Duke. That time would be fast even by SO4 standards. Going to have to go some to beat that though I'll certainly try :).

Looks like you're putting in quite a bit of time yourself :). I'll be looking forwards to racing you in the league!

I need to start playing again! Havent done any league breeding for well over a month now as nothing seemed to be happening on the league front, started a jumps game for fun and have only been playing that. Looks like the league could be on shortly after the new year so need to get back to it.
