I get exactly the same thing. Breed some good ones, give them unique names, sell them as unraced 2yo's just before year end turn-round in the dual code game, and they all end up sold abroad or dead.

I have noticed however that the game picks up my own unique names at some point years in the future giving the names to new AI horses. Nothing remotely like my homebreds, but none-the-less actively racing for a while.
