Firstly SO6 on Steam is the same game as the website build. The only difference is that Steam will handle the process of any future updates (rather than having to click on the UPDATE button).

I know some people prefer to have their games on Steam so to that end a manual process is being put in place for supplying current SO6 owners Steam keys. There is likely to be a small cost to this of around £3 to £4 to cover costs this end.

However, for a very limited time free Steam keys are being given to current SO6 owners who want one on this forum. Please give the game a review on Steam as this will help with visibility. Note that the review box may only appear on the games Steam page after you have played for a period of time. Please allow anything between a few hours and a few days for your key to be delivered.

Email support@startersorders.com with the subject line 'Free Steam key'. You should email in from the same email address you used to purchase SO6 and include you current key for verification purposes.

Note: If you have exports you will have to manually change your export file name. To do this install SO6 through steam and run once. Open explorer and click on DOCUMENTS and open the STARTERSORDERS6/SAVES location. There should be two files with the .hdb extension. One has your email address in the name and the other a long number. Copy the file name of the .hdb file with the long number to notepad. Delete this file and rename the '.hdb' file that contains your email address to the name with the long number (copied from Notepad).

This free key offer is time limited as it takes up a bit of time here so once the offer expires this thread will be deleted and alternative options for getting a Steam key will be posted.
