I assume when you say you have the save folder, you mean you have taken a copy of the Documents/SO6/saves folder. So, the best way is to start up your game and save new games in the slots where you had your previous saves. EG If your saved games were in slots 1,2.3 on your old laptop, them start up games in the same slots on the new laptop. Then open up your saved "saves' folder, copy all the contents, then open up the Documents/SO6/saves folder of your new game and paste them in, replacing the existing saves.

Just going through this myself after changing PC, from what I understand the game as normal is in your program files; the data, saves transfers and exports is in the starters orders folder in your documents. If you run the game without your saves it should create the file structure for you to copy over. Like I said doing this tonight so I maybe wrong but the theory seems simple enough.

Yes. Josh is correct. Start playing a new game and save it. Then when you go to Documents/Starters Orders6/saves folder you will see the files in there. You can then replace these with your saves from your old PC

Hi Guys,

I find the easiest thing to do is to copy the entire SO6 save folder from a previous game, install SO6 then launch it, then instantly quit the game which automatically creates a save folder on my machine. If you then go to documents, Starters orders 6 simply copy your entire 'save' folder from the previous game into the Starters Orders 6 folder and it will ask you if you want to replace it and select yes. This way you are dumping all your saves into the new game, horses, saved games, replays, game settings, controller inputs etc.

I found this much easier than doing individual saves one by one and havent had any real problems doing it that way in the past.

Please be careful though incase it doesnt work for you and make back up files of your SO6 game and your game save file incase it doesnt work for you for some reason.

The only problem I have had with my new SO6 game on my new windows 11 computer is every week or so(real time)the game will no longer overwrite the old save and I have to do a clean install every week or so using the system ive just mentioned. I have got that full install with all my save games etc down to about 3 minutes now. It is a pain to do but its the only solution I could find. I do have a powerful rig so it might be a bit slower on an older machine and you might find copying the whole save game folder might take time but it works for me so I hope that helps.
