Not to undermine Mark's recent work with SO7, however I was wondering what everyone's favourite version of the game is? And why? For me it's between 4 or 5 with number 5 just getting the nod. I didn't mind the 2D side scrolling visuals, thought the interface was very user friendly and most of all the simulation was excellent.

What's everyone else's thoughts?

I had the most enjoyment out of SO4.

But the game has improved immensely since then with SO6 and SO7 (potentially) way better.

For the record SO3 was my least favourite due to the terrible racehorse (giraffe) animation.

Must admit my favourite S0 series is SO5, im still playing it now, from the Thomas alternative graphics, to the photo finish and the guide that showed you when horses made mistakes in NH plus where they were situated on the course, shame they weren't incoperated into the new SO series.

7 is basically same game as 6 except for the breeding which is rubbish. How does a game go 1 edition without any additions to the GFX.

Sadly that doesn't seem to be the only non-improved area of the game. For the record, SO5 is my favourite.
