| Post subject: | What's a Great Top Money Earner? |
So I've been slowly (very slowly) making my way and tripping over a good horse now and again. My idea of a good horse up until recently was a horse that did well for a year or so and earned $3 million in its career. What really got me hooked was a surprise filly that just erupted from the start. Won her first 7 races, hit a small wall and then exploded again finishing in the top 3 in her next 16 in a row and then smoothed out a bit. During that period she finished second in the Derby, firs in the Preakness and third in the Belmont. She's 6 now and still competitive with a record of 32 wins on 64 races. Seems like a great stat to me and she's currently won over $26 million. No other horse I have has broken $10 million. So that got me thinking that, while this is my high ground, I'll bet she wouldn't even rank against what a lot of you have seen. I wasn't running her to go for the cash. I suspect there must be a $100 million winner out there somewhere. |
