It's one of the patches, can't remember which one. Not sure there is a post for it though. It's far more predictable breeding however, I've run about 100 seasons on an easy save after it came into the game and have had far more predictable results just like SO6.

It was in an update. Check the Bug Fix Log on the tech support forum

"1.019 Easy mode (Non league games) Breeding algoithm modified (easier). Also iOS.
Breeding - preffered distance spread tweaks/minor fix.
Minor mods relating to foreign horse quality."
