Hi there,

Noobie here trying to figure out if I should put this horse to stud or keep running him for a while. He's done quite well for my newbie stable so not sure the best route to take with him.

Nice starting stud!

I would retire to breed, he may or may not be a good stud. Like in real life, you never know who will pass on the traits reliably. But at 6 for a flat racer his form should be peaking now. He may place more than win at 7 & 8.

If he is good at stud, he'll save you way more on breeding fees than he could make racing at 6+. Even if he is not good, you can use him with the lesser quality mares, and sell the low end foals for money to use on bookings to better game-bred studs. The will be bred with the G1-parent flag and sell quite nicely.

Male horses can be bred from and then return to racing once they are done. Keep an eye on the Head Lad screen once hey are in the stud barn to see if he feels they still offer something on the track or not.

Normally I'd breed my mares from him and then send him out to race the second half of the season. :D
