Post Lose Focus
Hi all

I am in my fourth season on starters orders 4 and have 50+ horses. I would like to have at least 100+ in training by season 8. I have just topped the champion trainer last season making me the champion trainer coming into this season, my retained jock is Dennis O Regan. He has just become champion jockey last season.

In the first two seasons i found myself only sticking to the horses that are phenomenal and i do have a few of these horses in training over the jumps. This meant that i lost time with my other horses which some were completely under raced and disrespected by me, and now some of them have (with age) become superstars, i am asking if this has happened to anyone else in the game, have you ignored them and focused on the special horses so to speak, or do all of the horses in your stables collaberate a healthy team?

No, I would agree. With 100 horses allowed in the stable, it's very easy to lose focus and concentrate on a few favourites. For this reason, I keep my stable to 60 max.

Much of it is time management. I set each horse to have 4 races a season. Two before and two after Christmas. This allows me plenty of time to rest the superstars and put effort into developing the potentially weaker horses. I might turn another handful into winners. I also have and use the time, to develop the youngsters on the gallops and through schooling. As a result, the youngsters tend to appear more race ready, and perform better on their first real track outings.
