Is there anyway you can have more than 4000 horses in training at one time?

As far as I am aware, no. Someone else might be able to tell you something different but I believe it is part of the game's 'hard code' which we don't have access to.

ok thanks, ive been trying to figure out ways i could make an international schedule realistic, so as to have horses from each country coming through maidens in their own countries and predominantly racing just in their own countries and only racing abroad in races that are realistic and i think that there is just not enough horses from other countries for it to be realistic

Yes, this would be a massive improvement if the databse was bigger.

There are 16076 horses in the entire database, of which 4000 are in training at any one time. There isn't a way to increase the 4000 per season threshold as far as I'm aware, and even if you could then you would have problems with the same horse names coming around far too quickly.
