 Re: Start It 2.211
Also, a few things for the future. My listed schedule is almost finished. Will then need to test and adjust the horse pool to the amount of races there will be. Also, I will be editing my harness schedule from SO5 to SO6, along with making all of the courses in the editor. While there won't be any drivers in the sulky, all of the big harness races will be in, and I know that when I used my schedule in SO5, it was one of the most fun games of Starters Orders I played. It is also a great mile test, especially when all the horses wish to go better. I am planning on doing a quarter horse schedule, again making all of the QH courses in the editor. My question would be how to do it. I think of assigning a distance to QH distance and using that. Here is what I was thinking of: If you have any ideas of a better way of doing it, please tell me. Thanks so much! Later days!

You still considering having a go at a few courses from around the world once you've finished your US and Canadian tracks?

Not as many as I originally thought of doing due to not knowing what country to put them in and that they won't appear on the map. I may do those in the future however. The ones on the first post are the ones that I will be doing definitely.

The ones on the first post are the ones that I will be doing definitely. That's good to hear. Definitely looking forward to your version of Chukyo, as it's probably the highest profile Japanese course missing from the game, and from this year it will host the Champions Cup (former Japan Cup Dirt). I know it's not on your list, but I'd love to see what you could do with Hamburg's racecourse (home of the German Derby) if you were ever feeling adventurous, as it's such an unusual course with a lot of greenery and hedges.

I may give some German courses a try also. I'm making Germany be all European courses (outside of UK, Ireland, and France) so that it has a use outside of being Germany (cause it is kinda a random inclusion). The Japanese game is one that I will be expanding in the future, as Japanese racing is some of my favorite international racing. I may also work on some missing UK, France, and Australian courses. I will see once I finish all the North American courses what to do.

I will see once I finish all the North American courses what to do. The UK, France and Ireland are obviously the most important racing nations in Europe, but Germany is a clear fourth, and its profile is growing with top horses like Danedream and Novellist in the last couple of years winning some of Europe's biggest races. That trend could continue this year with Sea The Moon. Meanwhile, Italy's racing scene is plummeting, and it's now a very long way behind Germany in fifth place. So, if there was going to be a fourth European nation in the game, it really had to be Germany. Great to hear that you might eventually add more Japanese courses. In terms of missing UK courses, Mark pretty much covered all the flat UK courses, so outside of the jumps I'd say it's really just Chelmsford City that is missing. Also, Newcastle is planning to switch to all-weather next year, but I think they're planning to keep a turf course for their biggest flat race, the Northumberland Plate.

 Re: Start It 2.211
Update on 2.22: All that is left is Penn National and Tampa Bay Downs. Just finished up Emerald Downs, and I will say that Mt. Rainier is in the background, so you'll be able to race in the shadow of the mountain! The hills at Belterra Park and the desert and mountains of Sunland Park are also in. Along side the courses are about 20 or so US silks. In order for the silks to appear in game, you need to start a new game. As usual, the courses will work with old files, although the night racing at Emerald Downs will need a new save to work. Sorry to push back the release to tomorrow, but there aren't enough hours in the day to finish them all haha! Also don't forget to check out the Group Fictional Schedule I am making. Please comment about the races you will add in to our schedule. Here is the link to that thread: http://www.startersorders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=10097

Just finished Penn National. Now all that is left is Tampa Bay Downs. After finishing that, I will test all the courses and make any necessary changes, then will release. Expect release in about 3-4 hours.

 Re: Start It 2.22
Only just had a chance to check out the latest batch of tracks after a busy few days. Excellent work again, as always.
Great that you added the mountain for Emerald Downs - is that the first attempt you made at adding your own features in the entities folder? Great work! Although the red buildings that run along one side of the Emerald Downs track either look like prisons, or the red walls of a Moroccan city?! Do those buildings appear in other tracks? I don't think I've seen them before.
I think my favourite from the new batch is Sunland Park. Also really like the detail around the finish line at Oaklawn. I will definitely make good use of those tracks.
I like that you've added the river along one side of Belterra Park, although you can only see the opposite side of the river along part of it. I'm guessing that's just due to lack of space? As for other tracks with water, the lakes all look pretty good, although the one at Tampa Bay Downs could possibly be filled in a little more, as the water is at a much lower level than the track, meaning you can't see much of it when you're watching races.
Looking forward to the next batch!

 Re: Start It 2.22
Mt. Rainier at Emerald Downs was my first try at adding my own entities in. Might go back and add in the mountains at Santa Anita along with a few other unique parts of tracks. The brick buildings in the back are actually from the glass stand model (like the Oaklawn one). They represent warehouses that are on the backstretch of the track. Wasn't sure how to represent them, but they seemed to look like warehouses lol. Sunland Park is nice. It's a cool change from the usually track. Just wait til Ruidoso! Desert-like track with mountains right on the track. Such a great sight (now to figure out how to do it lol). And Belterra is actually one of my favorite. Was happy when the track opened and love to watch the racing from there, but looks so nice in game! I just finished up Beulah and Colonial, and wow do they look nice! Beulah was cool to work on cause there is the old dog racing track in the infield. Colonial was cool to work on with the very wide turf course and how there is a short outer chute for the turf course. It is also a pretty cool track with having a 1 1/4 mi dirt course and a 1 1/8 mi turf course. Very unique and definitely another turf track to train my 2yos on. I usually use the Meadowlands for turf racing for my 2yos cause its turf only and close to my stables. But now I will use Colonial Downs also, and will probably make it turf only in my game since only 10% of the races there are dirt. Really excited about using it in game. Next batch should be around by the end of this week or beginning of next week, so stay tuned!

 Re: Start It 2.22
Just finished up Golden Gate Fields. Was originally going to give that track the "Monmouth" Treatment, and put a lot of detail and get every little thing in, but there was already going to be a lot if I treated it just like any other track. Very nice track to race at, especially with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background behind the stands. Starting Laurel Park now. Hoping to finish this all by Monday or Tuesday.

 Re: Start It 2.22
Lone Star Park is finished. 4 more courses left in this pack. Will try to finish one more today, and then wrap them up tomorrow and Sunday. After that, will work on the Racing UK skin. Still expecting a Monday/Tuesday release.
