Re: Start It 2.23 (New Courses + Racing UK Skin)
Later today I will release 1/2 of 2.24 (first 5 courses and silks). However, I do not know if they will work with the new patch (haven't updated in like forever... like 20 patches behind). I am using you all as guinea pigs to test it for me (mwahahaha). So thanks haha! Hopefully they all work! And I'll try to get the rest out soon. I truly promise!!

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
I'm getting ready to install Start It 2.24 for the first time, do I still need to install version 2.21 before? I guess I need to let you know, I have not installed any Mods so far to my up-to-date SO6. Thanks for your great work !!

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
Revman, The only one that must be downloaded for it to work are 2.201 Data/Gfx and 2.201 Courses. 2.21, 2.22, 2.23, and 2.24 are all patches to the mod. They include extra stuff. The base is the 2.201. Once you download that, then the patches will work.

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
So update on what is happening with Start It. This Sunday (at latest) I will release the next 5 courses and some silks. Then, I will be taking a break from course designing for a couple weeks (will go back for the last week of November, and then late December and January). In the meantime, during November, I will be working on a Quarter Horse schedule and December will be working on silks, silks, and more silks. The reason why I won't be working on courses is since my laptop give me tons of problems with the editor. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. During the weeks when I will be working on courses, I will have my desktop with me, so I know that it will work out. If you have any questions, or any suggestions to stuff that you'd like to see in the mod, post below.
[EDIT]: There is no chance of getting the courses out. The editor is completely a hit or a miss each day. I wish it would work but I have so many problems with it on my laptop that there is no change of it working. Very sorry. The QH schedule is on its way and should be done on schedule. It is very sprint heavy (which it should be). I am enjoying what I have so far. I mean it may only be technically a fictional schedule based of a real schedule, it is still fun!

Hey mj
Been away for a while, and must say you have done terrific mate.
Are you able to get races less than 1000m for your QH schedule??

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
Scatters, I wasn't able to. I did come up with a nice system to get each distance proportional. The schedule will be released this week.
Atigger, I know the feeling. As fun as Penn State is, it is a lot of work I haven't been able to play that much either. Barely have enough time to watch the races on TV. But now I should get some play in during this short break. And the the interim between the semesters will be the time to play. Soon. Soon. (and still don't get the whole 2 midterm thing... Not the best name...)

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
That's a shame.
I have seen many horses in game that are very quick early but tire at about 800m out.

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
Later today, the Quarter Horse schedule (with trainers, jockeys, and owners) will be released. Along side it will be an updated Thoroughbred schedule to include the Bing Meet stakes schedule at Del Mar (just in time for California Chrome's attempt on turf in the Hollywood Derby) as well as the winter stakes at Los Alamitos.

Quarter Horse Schedule:LINK: http://www.mediafire.com/download/d6dofhi2hvz7u1m/QH_Schedule_and_TB_Update.zipRemove the _QH tag on the schedule, showcase, courses, trainer, jockey, and owner files to use. The trial system may not fully work, but it gives realism to the schedule. Enjoy! Also included is the update to the Thoroughbred Schedule. Remove the _TB tag to use. EDIT: Change the Adequan Cal Regional Trials in the showcase file to this: 5.8,L,3 5000,F10 Los Alamitos:cc_dirt1 Adequan Cal Regional Trials August EDIT: Change the last line of the trainers.dat file from 50. to 50, Quarter Horse Challenge:2YO Challenge: -Ruidoso Futurity (and Trial) -Rainbow Futurity (and Trial) -All American Futurity (and Trial) -Golden State Million Futurity (and Trial) -Los Al Two Million Futurity (and Trial) 3YO Challenge: -Ruidoso Derby (and Trial) -Rainbow Derby (and Trial) -All American Derby (and Trial) -Los Al Super Derby (and Trial) -Champion of Champions [must place 1st or 2nd in Trial to count]

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
mjtags11, Just wanted to thank you for all of your great work on this mod! I purchased the game a couple of days ago, patched it up to 0.962, and loaded your Base mod and all the patches. Everything runs smoothly and looks fantastic, but I have no crowds in the grandstands or anywhere else. I emailed Support and they said perhaps the courses need to be re-exported. Just noticed this was discussed briefly a few posts back, so I'm sure you're aware of it already, but wanted to let you know.
I grew up with the sport in the '70s era with all the great horses (Slew was my favorite), so I really appreciate your realistic renditions of all the tracks and improving upon the game!

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
Thank you so much Pibb! Means A Lot! About the crowds. The editor has been giving me so many problems (mainly cause I run Windows 8 ) and exporting hasn't been the easiest of things. I will try to get everything fixed soon, although this has been going on for months so who knows. I do have access to my desktop now as well (which runs Windows 7) so worst case scenario is that I upload all my courses to that and re-export from there. I will keep you (and everyone) posted.

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
That's great news! I notice you have Hollywood Park on your list of future tracks - looking forward to seeing that one down the road. It was the first racetrack I ever visited in 1977 when I was 12 years old. Was sorry to see it go, but the sport has changed so much in recent years, sadly it wasn't surprising. It will be fun to set up some races for the old place!

Re: Start It 2.24 (New Courses + Silks)
All finished with Remington and Rillito! Thistledown is all thats left in this pack. Should be out in the next few days.
Pibb, You are very lucky that you got to go to Hollywood Park (especially as the first track you ever went to). I wish I could have before it closed. I still need to make a trip to the west coast to see Santa Anita and Los Alamitos. Being stuck on the east coast has its perks, but I wish i could have seen Hollywood Park in action. And Hollywood Park is going to get very special treatment when I make it. Yes it will be much more graphic intensive than most of my courses, but every detail of that track will be there, making it truly come alive once again!
