Modders, please tag any Starters Orders 7 mods with "SO7" at the front of the thread name so that we can tell them apart from prior mods. I will not add any mods from SO6 into the database until they are tested to work on SO7.

There are no mod files yet as we have yet to have any SO7 mods come out. Check back later in the month as mods start coming out.

Been reading through the readme file, a little disappointed that theres not more conditions to add to races. I'm pleased with the home tag that can be applied, im hoping that this completely restricts the field to only home horses. I'm also hoping that horses running so shortly after their previous run is eradicated in SO7, and that this doesnt happen.

Something that I dont like is that there are novice races in the US game instead of Allowance races, im hoping this can be looked at. And the jumps game has been completely ignored which is very annoying, still no graded novice races, and chasers still going straight to chases without hurdling first.

I'm interested to know about the stallions file in the db folder, and what this means.

Also, I like the secondary nations, does this mean horses from these nations run without preps in major races?

Also, the foreign horse pool, my understanding was that we could select a percentage for each nationality, but it seems that it is only a percentage for all foreign horses which is a little disappointing.

Other questions I have, do we know if its possible to have more than three meetings per day, it would be great if it is.

Also, what is the maximum number of trainers we can have in the trainer/owner game, and the maximum number of owners in the owner game?

Thanks

The percentage for each nationality is determined by the number of feature races in that nation. For me, it's a much better system this year and makes things a lot simpler.

Hi Panther, just read this in the instructions, sorry, completely missed it before. I agree it is a better system, i also really like that the spread of distances in foreign horses is determined by the distances of races.

I think the horse portraits and real names (trainers/jockeys) can be added even without testing.

Would rather not include any mods from SO6 until they've been tested to work with SO7 even with something as simple as portraits.

Skylark's increment stat bars still work, but the old files, at least for the 5% increments, were flagged by mediafire for some weird reason (I mean they aren't copyright and I can't see Mark prohibiting them). I could remake them/reupload them, but I don't wanna seem like I'm taking credit.

Well here's the link to them https://www.dropbox.com/s/cp4gpp885gzr6hn/Skylark%27s%20Increment%20Bars.zip?dl=0

But please credit Skylark! I tested them ingame and they 100% work perfectly, ran 2 seasons don't cause any crashing. I am only uploading/sharing this because his were taken down and he never fixed it and I don't even know if he comes on anymore.

Also wanted to notify people, if you're like me and struggling a bit seeing the itty bitty lines and having to count them to figure out exactly where your horse falls (especially on the 5% increment, its all so teensy), open them in paint and color code each section, it works wonders. I did red, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, lime green, green, green-blue, blue, dark blue, purple on mine. Helps me see really quick "ah my horse falls in the blue range, that means its a 70-80% bar.

There's also my version you could use. The download still works for me...

Increment Scale for Horse Stats Bar

Using Skylark's original concept (hat tip) I made a increment scale bar with lines for every 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 point marker. I also added special notches for 25,50 and 75% for easier gauging of the stats bars. There is also one for the Main Parameters box.

--------------------------------------------

Download Instructions...

Have a backup copy of the original gfx folder if you don't already.

Download zip file.
Extract contents of zip file to desktop or place of your choosing.
You should see a folder named "Inc. Bar Redesign". Inside this folder are two folders - "Horse Stats Bar" and "Main Parameter Box". Inside both of these is a folder named "misc". You can use one or both of the misc. folders if you want.

Copy and paste the "misc" folder to ~ Program Files > Starters Orders 6 > gfx

Accept all overwrite requests.

Glad these work. I will add those to the database when I get to my computer in a bit (hard to add on my phone).

Also, can a moderator please pin this thread? I would but I'm not a moderator on here.
