Modding - Fatal Error Message
Hi All -
Looking for some guidance… I’ve been working on a schedule and when I went to test it I received the following error message…
“LIB:FATAL ERROR: Fatal: Can’t get valid showcaseRacesInit::day line. Race no. , 830”
I checked line 830 of my showcase file and dont see anything wrong…
Any ideas??
Thanks, VG

Re: Modding - Fatal Error Message
Thanks for the help. from what file should i pull from to show you? Sched, Showc, or Featured Races? I use a USA-based schedule, but did modify some international featured race files.

Re: Modding - Fatal Error Message
Thanks Gray. I think I understand the format you need to see, but my question is from what file is the error calling out? It references the fatal error in RaceNo: 830 but I am not sure if It means the 830th race listed in the schedule or line 830 from the code of one of the files...
See below. I pulled line 830 from the feature race file and added the respective race from the sched_f file (which is not technically line 830 in the sched_f file). At first glance I can't catch anything wrong.
_sched_f
3,21 Santa Anita San Luis Rey
_featureRaces_flat (line 830 on this file is the 2nd line of this code)
<NAME>San Luis Rey<RACECOURSE>Santa Anita:cc_flatTurf1 <MONTH>Mar<PRIZE>100000<DISTANCE>12.0<RACECATAG>G3<AGE>4YOUP
showc_f
12,G3,4UP 100000 Santa Anita:cc_flatTurf1 San Luis Rey March

Re: Modding - Fatal Error Message
Really appreciate the help, Gray. I had some spare time on my hands and ended up just completely re-writing the DB files. Had some updating to do to the US Stakes schedule anyways... It's an international stakes schedule with some fictional/past races in there.
Now only issue I run into is with the Woodbine Course. Not sure why, but when the horses break from the gate it seems as if they don't stay within the confines of the rail/course. Also noticed the steering behind reversed for some reason. Seems like it may only happen on the dirt course and one of the turf courses. Not sure if that could be DB file linked, or if that's more of a gfx/3D issue. Trying to get that fixed before I start up a new game. If you have any insight on that I would be grateful...this issue has stumped me.

If it's A course that's been a mod rebuilt or something that would be a Waypoint problem that means the waypoint is to close to the Rails and need adjusting further from the rail this is fixed in the Editor and you Upload the course check the Waypoints on Dirt and Turf Course if you know the part of the course the horses cross over the rails you can move the waypoints. But you will need to export the whole course again and also you will have to put the winning line back in before Exporting make sure if you attempt it save the waypoint adjustment and Winning line and reload the course then click Export it will fix it but if you click export before you save the editor will crash and you have to redo the waypoints again.
