Hi to all the course designers out there.
With the release of Starters Orders 7 getting closer I have been improving my course designs by adding personalised images in the racecourse editor to mask the games default red and white winning posts.
I got this inspiration from MJ's great Flemington winning post decoration.
I really think that even though they are just images with added transparency, they still add a lot of character.

Here are some of my creations below.
A couple are just outback Australian courses from areas where I grew up.

THESE ARE AMAZING!!
Very great work on these --- definitely enhances the realism in watching races at those tracks.

Thank you MJ.
I really would like to make 3D models for these decorative areas around the winning posts but it seems we can't.
in fact I cant even find out if Starters Orders was made with a well known 3D game engine like Unity.
I mean how good would it to be to be able to recreate real grandstands from the past and present?

I was also hoping for a combined schedule for Australian racing as I'm tired of having to put my Aussie jumps racing on the English jumps schedule to work.
Mark says it will happen during the beta but I'm guessing it will be very low priority while all these other gameplay issues are sorted.

I agree with MJ these are amazing. The few times I messed around with making courses I always got a little discouraged at how the finish line area needed to have what the track has in real life. You've made it happen. Nice work.

Wingding,

These look great. Do you share or post your Australian courses anywhere?

Thanks

I haven't as yet guys, may do so though when Starters Orders 7 becomes more stable and leaves the beta stage.

Hey MJ or Gray have you ever tried to do this with the racecourse editor?

With Doomben and Eagle Farm (which Mark calls Brisbane btw) being basically across the road from each other I decided to try and put them on the one map in the editor.

I was actually considering this when I start doings some Australian courses. With how close together they are, I feel like I have to in order to keep the sense of detail and realism I put in all my courses.

Definitely an unusual setup with those two racecourses so close together.
I've only been to Brisbane a handful of times myself and only ever been to the races at the Doomben venue.
I do however remember being curious of the Eagle Farm track and once parked in the Doomben car park, walked across the road.
Oddly I found an open gate and walked right up to the outside running rail of the Eagle Farm course approx 900m from the winning post.
Quite an odd feeling when all the live action was actually going on behind me.
