No matter what I try, I cannot play my freshly purchased Starters Orders 7 on Steam. Tried all possible solutions suggested on forums and help guides, yet nothing at all. Loads a black screen up for 2 seconds, then closes.

Oh well, back to Starters Order 6 then. And a nice refund for a game that doesn't load. Shame as I was looking forward to the new breeding options.

* edit: can't even play Starters Orders 6 anymore, because the link that I was emailed at time of purchase no longer works. Now that I have a new computer, I cannot install this game on my new computer.

Can't believe you've had no response to this. If you mail him he'll send you a link that does work for so6, did the same thing for me when I realized so7 was the biggest pile of sh*t ever created. Nobody seems to care anymore, so7 truly did sink the ship. This forum used to be really good.

Just a long shot jonnycosmic. Have you tried disabling sound on your laptop (laptop sound as opposed to game sound) ? I could not get SO7 to launch on Steam and that worked for me.

I’d heard that the commentary was unbearable, so disabling the sound on laptop was the first thing I did.

Literally no idea why it won’t work for me.

Oh well, worth a try suggesting it. Long as you have disabled sound entirely on your machine (not just turned down) not sure what else to say.

Before finding that solution, I did launch it from the game file rather than directly from steam. From memory it worked, though some times needed a few attempts.

I wonder if Mark is even alive?

I'll ask even though you said you tried everything - Maybe your anti-virus is blocking the game? Check your AV.

AGV prevented my game running. Got rid of AVG and all was good
