Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
ya last option you suggested sounds best Leon
also courses can be redesigned from scratch if you know what you are doing (I DONT) and still be called Longchamp or Ascot yet bear no resemblance to the real thing someone could create ascot with a 1m2f straight which would produce super quick times so hard to know how to judge it

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
if you have to include the race history with your records. It will be obvious if all the times are freak compared to everyone else.

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
Probably no point in doing records. Just beat my 12f time. Not sure how these horse are running so quick in Japan. Although my 12f times are fast everywhere.

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
I don't think there is any point in keeping record times as stated b4 tracks can be modded to be flat as a pancake and a long straight

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
Even with no mods the times are crazy. Have now run 1.06 for 6f in Dubai of all places , 56.8 for 5f at Ascot!!!! and the crazy 14f times I have posted.
Have no idea why the time are so quick in my game as there are no mods in my game as I normally only add them after the game is official.

If you beat it using a non-modded track than props to you, if you don't well we'll have this generic track as the default anyway.
I think if anything this could be an improvement, sure it's not as realistic, but it's fairer, with us all racing on the same straight, flat track nobody would have an advantage or disadvantage, now if only a weather controlling mod could be made to give us only a certain type of track (good/firm) it would be ultimate fairness. Since the straight, flat track is the most ideal situation, by making it the default there is no way somebody could cheat by editing the track further (as far as I know).
I believe though that most people on here are honest, not the types to lie about editing a track. Someone who would lie about this is just a sad individual, there is no money involved, and just absolutely nothing to be gained besides getting your name on a list, which I can't imagine holding much excitement if you know you cheated to do so. I can't see someone getting that sense of achievement when they know what they did to get there was just a lie and that they don't deserve it. It's sad that the game is coming to this, but to insure against cheating I think the only thing that could be done would be the generic track I stated earlier, if everyone has the "unfair advantage" and uses it, it no longer becomes unfair or an advantage, just unrealistic. You Would be very surprised some of the SO5 record times were set by some making every race a claiming race therefore horses were carrying at lot less weight so i hear anyway I dont have any mods in my game now as its a pain reinstalling everything after a patch id say there are a few in the same boat some would not be keen to install a default track these records are set in game so i have no idea how it would work anyway

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
im running jamies mod but don't think I will be putting up any more times as it can leave you open to false accusations(as some of the ingame times im seeing are ridiculous) will probably just wait for the league to start when we are all on a level playing field and running at the same track.hopefully mark will have put something in place so theres no suspicion on anyone

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
I just reinstalled the game fresh a week ago and have no mods whatsoever, one of my 3yo fillies just won the St George 1m4f in 2.25 flat! and it is not even a star horse (unless 85% potential bar is now a great horse?) but i have to say I am having a lot more fun with the way the game is playing, I do not always win. I am sure if my filly ran that time there are star horses destroying it

Re: SO6 (Beta) World Record Times
Out of curiosity, how quick is this time compared to some others?

It does not matter how fast your PC is it won’t go above 60 so it’s the same for all PC’s. It could be that machines that cannot maintain the recommended 60 fps are having slight variations in times due to the way the floating point calculations and timing is handled.
