Re: Breeders Cup 2015
It proved what awful race course that was because Tonalist was up with the pace when he's a hold up horse, the jockey knew he was damned if he held his horse up and damned if he went with them.
After this weekend they should tell Keeneland ( my fav course in the US) that unless they can produce a fair course for all then they shouldn't come back.

What a perfect fluid stride he has. Easy pace doomed the rest. What if Beholder ran in the race? Great racing all and see you for the Melbourne Cup ...and please don't look at my BC choices. I was forced at gunpoint to make those

Re: Breeders Cup 2015
No one even tried to beat American Pharoah. He just won easily. A champion through and through.
But won't go down as the most impressive performance of his career. I think the Haskell was the best. Wow. What a horse. I thought that if he won that it would be at least in 2:02. Victor Espinoza was very scared throughout the race though. He gripped the reins too hard, leaving marks on American Pharoah's neck.
Oh... and maybe a threepeat in store for Victor in the Derby. He is piloting Juvenile runner up Swipe.

Not 1 horse has come from the back all weekend. AP a great/superstar horse but went out in a meaning less race, the worst classic field ever.

Re: Breeders Cup 2015
Next year's Breeders Cup Classic returns to Santa Anita, where, hopefully California Chrome, Beholder, Shared Belief, maybe Untapable, Toast of New York, Tonalist, maybe Effinex, possibly Hoppertunity, Hit It A Bomb (cause you know O'Brien is going to want another shot), Swipe, Nyquist, Ralis, and then whatever other horses decide to step up from now til then. Next year's field should be strong. This year... it was American Pharoah against no one. Solid win and good ride by Victor Espinoza. And apparently a new track record.
And the time wasn't too slow. Only four times has the Breeders Cup Classic been run in sub 2:00 times.

Mj I think that might be the first time they have run over that distance, the track records only go back to last year and I cant think of any race that has been run over that distance.. Mj what was the time because on our TV it said 2.01.00 and on the wiki page it said 2.00.00. Just checked on Equi it was 2.00.07 If it was 2.00.00 then that's good. The fourth best time outside of the stupid fast Cali tracks. 1 Ghostzapper 1.59.02 2 Cat Thief 1.59.52 3 Cigar 1.59.58 4 AP 2.00.07??? Not Bad company.

Re: Breeders Cup 2015
Larry Collmus said that the time was 2:00.5. That is what I went off of. Equibase charts the time as 2:00.07.
They ran it a few times before they switched to Poly. Fastest 1 1/4 was 2:02.51. Fastest on Poly was 2:00.61. Fastest on new dirt surface 2:05.36.
