 ATT. RACE CALLERS
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing Tim, Phil and Martin - Can you please click on the link - type in your names to nominate which races you want to call. First column is flat races - for this week there are 10 flat races free on the second day and if you scroll right down to the bottom of the page you'll see a tab for JUMPS. Click on that and you'll find jump races free for the second and third day. For this week - please choose 3 flat races and 7 jumps races - and we'll work out who wants to pick up what is left over. Good luck fellas

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
Already put down that I would do the NH ones for Weds (21 onwards) before I saw this post. Happy to give up some if other people want to do them. Similarly can do some of the flat ones from Day 2 if needed.

Martin Martin -If you'd prefer to call NH then I am happy for that - especially if you want to do Weds jump races. I just assumed people would want to do more flat. Anyway I am happy to give up some hunt races if people want to do more jumps calling. Doug.

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
Tim and Phil - do either of you have a preference for calling flat or jumps?

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
I am happy doing either and would like to do a mixture if I turn out to be any good !
Just put down that I would do Weds NH on suggestion of Gray as it would give me more time this first week.
Once I get going I will happily do as many (or few) as you need. I used to do a bit of race calling for game nights in the pub years ago so as long as I can cope with the technological side of it I will enjoy it.

No worries Martin - You are down for all the jumps races on Weds NH. You'll be fine with your calls - Have a drink or a cup of tea while you're doing it and relax and have some fun with it The NH calls are pretty relaxed - you get a lot of time during the race....especially the longer races - Just call them in your style and personality. Jumps take longer to upload - my tip from experience is once you have called race one - save it and immediately send it off to Gray and go in and record/call race two then send race two off to Gray as soon as you can. If you call all the races first and then send them after.....it takes ages. If you have any issues - post it up in here and Gray, Myself and Mike will be glad to help you out.

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
Cheers mate,
I think I am all good to go now. Have downloaded audacity and had a play with it, all pretty straightforward.
So I just have to record the audio on there and then drop the correctly named wav file in the appropriate comms dropbox folder, is that right. No need to record the actual video bit.
Will have plenty of time this weekend (No Everton match to worry about !) so if you need any extras doing just let me know.
Have just looked on the League page and am mightily impressed how professional it all looks and how many people are in it. Great job.
Looks like a couple of my races only have 2 or 3 runners so I better get practising on some inane waffle , sorry I mean interesting colourful filler !
Really can't wait to have a go at this I think its going to be a blast !

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
Races will start to fill up today - I haven't nominated yet and I guess a few other haven't? Yes just record your vocals only then click on 'File' top left corner and then 'Export Selected Audio' - I then send the recording to a folder on my desktop and from there I either email it to Gray or it goes through dropbox to Gray. Jumps races do take longer to send and call - you get to call a novice maiden that is named after me - so have some fun with that one OK one other thing - to sync your audio to vid - this is what I do - I hit record then I go to the video screen and as I click on play I make a click sound into the mic at the same time. Then I do the call and click on stop. I then highlight from the end of the call (vocals) to the actual end of the file and then click on the scissor symbol. That will delete all the dead air. I then scroll to the start of the call where I locate my "click sound" from when I pressed play on the video - I then highlight from my "click sound" to the very start when I pressed play - click on the scissors and delete that dead air. Now your Comms will fit exactly to the video so Gray doesn't have to do any editing. Good luck and don't get to hung up on mistakes - remember to err is human

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
I have inked the late afternoon and evening in to do mine in the company of a bottle of claret. Was hoping to get some uploaded yesterday but ended up going out. If there are any others that need doing just let me know and will do them at the same time.

I have also left quite a few jumps for day 2 as well - I'll see how I go with them and try and do as many as I can. Doug

 Re: ATT. RACE CALLERS
Got the afternoon free if those races still need calling. Happy to do them but don't want to step on anyone's toes as the newbie.
