It was only a disagreement on my part Paul. My next post was all lovey dovey and wishing him the best of luck for the remaining season ahead. He could be sat on the throne again.

I can be nice.

Championships are stupid any ways, who cares who wins them. If this new system comes in then that talk about winning them with new horses stops because the trainer with a full squad will get the early advantage and the trainer with newbies will get the later advantage so it will even it's self out.

100% agree with John.

It becomes more about strategy and also aligning that with the way you play the game - and like John says that means it then evens itself out over the course of a season.

To add to it - I think we should allow new trainers or returning trainers the chance to join at any stage during the season.
I think it would be a good way to bring in new trainers.

A plus with this is the Handicapper only needs Week 1 and 2 to sort out Ratings then the rest of the season just needs to keep an eye on Newcomers so this will help out the get a handicapper problem because it doesn't come 39 races a week for 13 Weeks.

What happens when someone rocks up with 10 new horses for Royal Ascot (or Cheltenham), takes the shine away for me, like last season, which was why the window was moved. Or if a new trainer enters a full stable in week 13, not fully understanding that they will only get one week of racing.

I would leave it open for weeks 1-2 and weeks 7-8. Which gives new trainers two extra weeks per season to join.

My vote is Transfer Window for everyone week 7 but ONLY to fill spare stable slots
but agree with Dan returning trainers shouldn't be able to upload anytime this could take the shine away from a big meeting
like Royal Ascot if they upload lots of monsters that week and take over i liked how Royal ascot was week 6 and uploads week 7 this season

We could avoid any recoding by managing it properly, would be easy to see if a full stable suddenly had debutant horses from week 7 onwards.

Means there are two points new trainers can enter and for empty stable slots to be filled?

The window was moved because every trainer was bringing in new horses for Ascot. 1 or 2 trainers is nothing - and that's what it will be at best.
If they enter at week 13, just tell them they can't and to work on their stable for the new season.
Just apply some common sense.

Maybe it should be fine for totally new trainers to join the league anytime
but not returning trainers that can turn up and dominate at Royal ascot and also kill all the rivalry battles that happen from start
at the min the window week 7 works well with royal ascot beeing in week 6

On the jumps side its impossible to have horse rivalries last from start till the big meeting Cheltenham with it not being till week 10
(Cant have no window season is too long) but it still works well because with the window being week 7 we still get 3 weeks of horses running on the build-up to Cheltenham
but like real life too will be good to see horses come in and take realistic paths to Cheltenham because a lot of good horses don't run till Christmas irl

Now going back to the poll
I voted for Transfer Window for everyone ONLY to fill spare stable slots only
but im not sure now is it that bad to keep it how it is
I didnt take into account the extra work for Leon as he says and do we all really want to be left with them dud horses for 13weeks would be so annoying
and we are all in the same boat too we should all use our retirements for new horses and new mains to keep the interest
