Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Elmfield Boars wins his second G1 handicap and into the big time level weights sprints now . quiet over jumps this week but 6 wins between both codes tales me to 33 combined wins very pleasing number with such a small stable number
Huge thanks to all that run the league its truly appreciated guys

5 wins on the day and all 9 runners making the money . Tigerfish finally broke his maiden in the group 3 which has been a big frustration hes been super consistent and deserved a win as did Aim and Fire over fences hed run some great races and was good to get a win albeit in a lowly level ...wins a win !!
Thanks to all for making the league happen hugely appreciated and well done to all winners

Well that was a red letter day. 6 wins on the flat including 2x G1 and 2x G2….. NH, a situation helped by the Heavy ground, but 7 wins in a day is ridiculous, 3x G1 and 1x G2 and great form to carry into Cheltenham. The pick of the litter was ‘National King’ proving his genuine staying power over 4m4f and with a whole lot of weight. I dare to dream for aintree but he is sure to be top weight now………next year josh hide them from the handicapper

Well another red letter day for my team and not in a good way, since i said( bloody curse) this was the best jumpers I've ever had they have all started to fall like trees in a wood And to top it of that bloody welsh commentator put the Kibosh on my horse, i want stamp to fall . He even got that wrong And Josh u cant hide good horses especially when their that good. Btw Cuthill will be seeing the Pretty boy at festival, then we'll see how Pretty he is

Quote: Btw Cuthill will be seeing the Pretty boy at festival, then we'll see how Pretty he is That would make a fine change since you have ducked him 3 times in G1’s he went on to win.

Never ducked him, will only run on soft ground at the festival. My good ground horses are to close to firm ground horses so there is no point running on it. The pretty boy won't be pretty after the festival when he'll be covered in mud from running behind my boys arse

then we’ll never know who the best is since they are polar opposites ground wise, if it is actually muddy, heavy mud, he’d enjoy it immensely, probably breezing past your old puffer in the final 2f……good to soft or firmer and my boy won’t even bother.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Tough week for me this week, just the one winner and one place getter. A lot of my horses look tired and two of them pulled up injured. So newbie question, do horses tire as the league season goes on, do some need a week's rest or should they *always* be fit and ready to race? Seems to be no way of telling like there is in the game save where the head lad informs you. Should I be managing their workload better?
Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen.
Cheers, Paul

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Hi Paul, I'm pretty certain that they do not accumulate fatigue, it will all depend on the condition of the horse when exported. Someone better placed should be able to confirm. Some horses do just get injured during the races it's very rare but it does happen, however the horse will be fine to run following week.
One quick Q for Racerunners, any reason Lucky Moon didn't run in R32 last week? Still showing as nominated for the race in my Stable on Tom. Imagine it was a mistake and no problem if so but just checking.
One winner for me this week, with the worst horse in the stable. Quite a few places though, aim before the end of the season is to try and steal a listed race or better, the G1 handicaps later in the season may be the best option!

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Thanks Nick, they were all uploaded in tip top condition. Just the last couple of weeks horses that had run well in the early weeks have been finishing at the rear of the field. Maybe it's me getting tired and I am putting them in the wrong races!

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Paul, no they don’t get tired, the horse file is static so whatever condition it was when exported it is in the same condition now. The only thing that does change is the form is recorded. I have often wondered if confidence comes into play in the racekit but I doubt it does.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Last week has some max rated G1’s. I tend to argue they are not actually G1’s since max if say 100 how can they be, but they are good targets along with the finals for the trainers working up the ranks.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Nick Driver into the "I have waffled my way through a marathon AW race society" We meet for therapy at the end of every season. Get some more stories ready as it is great to hear them. Doug's stories about his customers were legendary but I have been repeating mine for so long now i am considering changing my name to Dave. Well done on winning it too (even though you beat mine).
As for my stable well I am on course for my worst ever season, and that includes my debut season, with just 27 winners over both codes in 9 weeks.
Sad to say my enthusiasm is at its lowest point with most things SO and league wise and that at them moment my feelings are that the league and myself may well be parting company at the end of the season. Lets hope Cheltenham and the final few weeks do something to change that.
