Post Jockeys
As you know, (I've banged on about it enough in the past) I have a real issue with the way horses are continually taken wide in races, with no need for it. I've noticed a few again this week (not just my horses), where no effort at all to turn in coming up to corners. Then I noticed a few races where the Jockey rode a blinder getting in a furlong before the bend an getting a much better run.

My point is that could it be the Jockey ability causing most of this - 7 horses all just running in a straight line together the whole race with no effort to ever try an race clever. I don't know how the jockeys work in comparison to the game itself, but in the game they all have very differing stats. If these do count for Jockeys who ride in the league, would there be a way to get only the best 40 Jockeys involved in League races, and the rest just ignored completely. It may be it makes no odds at all to the races. Just a thought I had an thought I'd float

I asked about this a few years ago and was told that YES it does matter which jockey you get. That could also account for why some stop riding. If you think about it it makes sense that the characteristics of the jockeys matter in the racekit because only some do the G1 salute passing the post so they must have that written into their coding.

It also counts in the CK too and this is why results can differ so much when trialling.

Would be great if the SO8 racekit allowed you to allocate jockeys and we could have a random draw for a stable jockey for each stable.

I think like a random draw and then u get to pick which one u want. U can all see in game their stats.

I'd be amazed if it was possible though.

There's a job for u vinny, when u think u horse has a bad ride see who the jockey is and have a look in game to see if it matches his rating. U need someone with the best horses to do it.

Yeah, that would be a great addition, does seem like something that may be tough to implement. just limiting the amount of jockeys the Racekit can pick from would be a simple solution if the other doesn't work out though?

Still going to get poor rides etc even doing that. I just think they'll be fewer, and the difference between a good ride, an a bad ride wont be quite as large

It is not just round bends when jockeys do strange things.

I can't remember exactly which race but one of the h'cap races I ran in week 1 there was a horse about 3 lengths up with 10 lengths to the finish line, the jockey looked around and must have decided I have won this race because you could see he stopped urging the horse onwards and the 2nd place horses passed him easily.

I don't think that will work. I think jockey abilities is a random factor. I am sure that the same jockey has different abilities in different saves.

That makes them even more pointless , what's the point of picking one .
