Yes some start from Paul in NH, showed week one wasn't a fluke, some going for only his second season

Finished with 4 flat wins for the week, so properly chuffed and I did say the 5yo wont be beaten on soft and duly obliged in R38 made good use of a low mark from end of previous season so highly disappointed it has been given 14lbs for the win. wouldn’t happen anywhere else!  I thought you cant really go up more than 10 for a handicap win ?

Well done to all winners and placers and the team.

Not sure where my flat team is at the moment. They are a little off what I had hoped for especially the 1m2f & 1m4f (although what I think is my best over 1m4f has only had the one run and there isn't a race for him next week either). My stayers could still be something so will be interesting to see how they go in the Sagaro Stakes and Sydney Cup respectively. Still I have 4 more winners than what I did at this stage last season so cannot complain.

I am blown away by my jumps stable, second in total wins with only last season's champion trainer ahead of me. Thought I might have had a couple of good hurdlers but the chasers have really surprised me. Came close to my first Grade winner in the Tipperary Hurdle, think Explicable would have won it had he not run through the second last. My National hopes are running well (with the exception of one who hasn't found a race to run in yet), so could have some tough decisions to make as the season goes on.

Last season my jumps team was thrown together at the last minute and I only had half a dozen runners in the stable so this year was always going to be an improvement - but to have 4 times as many winners as I had for the whole of last season after 2 weeks is insane!

Think I have said it before, but I couldn't have improved without the help of all of you - I like to think I have taken a little bit from each of you and put it all together, so the success is as much yours as it is mine.

Just got to polish my commentary now to get it as good as Martin and Stu!

There is no substitute for time spent playing. I have seen how much time your spending through discord telling me what your playing :)

Success is earned, you earned it in my view, but I am not planning to hand you my crown just yet :)

The handicapper (Vinny) put one of my horses up 40lbs from week 1 to week 2 for winning a maiden.

That must be the biggest jump ever in the league.

I am going to feed pork pies to his horses this week   8)

Fifty years ago my grandfather had about a dozen greyhounds and some were very good. I remember him and my uncle talking about feeding pork pies to some of the dogs to hamper them in races so there were better odds for the next race.

You are doing great with the commentaries mate. Week 1 was good but you improved again in week 2. Sound far less self conscious and more natural. Your style is developing and will continue to do so week by week.

All Stu and me need to do now is find one more 'natural' and we can slope off and join Doug in the commentators retirement home.

Totally agree with Martin, you are doing a great job.

Good week for me on the NH, the team look pretty solid with wins now in most classes and distances, 2m and 3m hurdle remain my only concerns and future work if we do another season.

Flat got chewed up and spat out on the heavy ground, but still recorded some nice results. Going to be an interesting title race..........

One winner on the flat on day one and lots of placers. Most of the placers had really good runs but were giving away too much weight to the winner. Victims of their success in the first too weeks with G1 winners racing in G2 & G3 races or horses with big weights running in h'caps.

The big disappointment was the 1,000 Guineas horse Island Dance, she just never got into the race and at one point was almost last.

The success story was Druid Surfer maintaining his unbeaten record to make it 3 from 3. I was also pleased with Island Surfer, Druid Surfer's daughter, who finally showed some of her home form in the league to finish 2nd to Druid Surfer.

My long distance runners this season are really poor, Lexicon Thief in race 2 and Lexicon Distance in race 5 both finishing miles behind the winners. They were a line of horses I was experimenting with. They are only one and two generations removed from a gamebred stallion unlike my other horses who are anything from 6 to 9 generations removed from gamebreds.

Well done to David Robertson on his 1,000 Guineas winner.

Thanks to Paul and Martin for the comms and all the race runners.

Some good runs for me but no closer to elusive win on either code. Bullet Beatrice and So Scottish are both in rude health without winning. Few disappointments off light weights.

NH wise, was gutted Element of Victory couldn't hang on in the Ze Turf, my 2m4f Chasers seem to be the best of a woeful bunch, got 2nd with Muhatarreau but that's probably because he's a flat horse in an actual flat race. rest are very poor as expected

Well done all winners, thanks all runners/comms

2 winners for me on the flat. 2 horses I thought would be very god at the start too, but disappointed so far in Easy Destiny an Sordid Sensation. Really pleased Sordid Sensation finally got off the mark, had massive hopes for him an he's currently my top breeder in my game.

A little gutted I forgot to put Sordid Foundations in the 1m4 race. I even wrote about him in the racecard then just forgot to enter him. Would have been interesting getting weight from Jims Sufer as he's almost certainly my best 12f horse

Thanks again to all race runners an comms team an Alex

Powderkeg wins the 1000 guineas for me and I think that's the first time I've won that race so well chuffed.

Post Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
After my disappointment of my horses performance in the 1000 Guineas I was totally over the moon to win the 2000 Guineas with Jupiter Bell and a 5th place with Classic Quest but before the race I thought my horses would finish the other way round.

An easy win for Echo Mind in race 23, a listed 6f race. I always fancied his chances in such a small field.

Again, one of horses has gone to the front very early in the race and been run down in the closing stages. Race 21 my horse Cruising Device ran as a front runner but never did this in my home trials. I don't understand why so many of my horses are doing this in the league this season. Some of my uploads this season were from saves that are from 4 or 5 seasons in the past of my main save. Maybe need to reload these seasons and look more closely at the horses.

I only had horses running in 4 flat races today and the final race result was no surprise. My longer distance horses are crap as Druid Prince proved in the 2 mile Sagaro Stakes.

I don't normally speak about my 6 horse NH stable as they were uploaded as an experiment but my one runner today, Storm King, won a 2 mile h'cap chase of a low weight.

Well done to the winners and thanks to all those behind the scenes.

Jim

Good 3 winners for me today, with a 1-2 in 2 of those races.

My 2 yos were a bit of an afterthought from all my old horses from my previous game I abandoned. Wasn't expecting much, but nice result. Laschak Maaschine is a 1m horse technically, so the massive field over 7 will have likely helped.

Emerald Speel is now 2 from 2 over 2miles. I really do not get this. I wrote down useless on my racecard 1 for Dubai an he won easy, then again with a 6lb penalty he's won again. It's quite bizarre. He was about 5th choice to enter the league 2 seasons ago, then 3rd choice for last season, an I haven't touched that game. Answers on a postcard as I thought he'd likely get in the Melbourne cup off a low weight an have a squeak.

My5f horses look a different class at the minute. Silly Little Style giving all that weight away was very unlucky. I fancy Sluggish Tigress will pick up races over 5 an 6 this season
