Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
It's been a huge breakout season for me but still plenty of work to turn a top 3 or 4 into a genuine shot at the top (in both flat and NH).
Sprinters and milers have really been poor for me on the flat plus I don't have a strong enough second string of horses so once you get past my half dozen or so really good ones the rest fall away dramatically. Similar story in the jumps where the shorter distances need more attention.
So that's what I am working on in the hope of another season, and the more that are challenging at the top the better.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Been a strange season for me. Lots going on outside of here and very busy with work.
Thought I had fallen behind a bit but I think its more others improving and coming in. Especially on NH where I kept finishing 5th in wins (4th once) but Daniel and John coming back, Paul, Del and Matt improving, Vinny joining the NH and Jim and Padraig dropping in and out has really taken a chunk of races away from me that I used to quite often win over the past couple of seasons. Also not getting the quantity of hunter wins I used to get. The fact that Darren Thompson who normally finishes 4th is down by me again this season bears this out. All good for the league in the long run though.
Bizarrely, Annie Golden has turned into my best ever horse really winning Irish and American Gold Cups and the G3 Hennessy at Newbury. I probably owe John Morgan a drink for those wins as I am sure his pacemakers set her up for the wins. Other strange thing is she is by far the 'oldest' horse in my stable and could have been in before. Sire and dam both won in Season 1 of SO7 if memory serves.
Flat has been mostly a disaster but did win my first ever proper level weights/wfa G1 on the flat last week when Harq won the Racing Post Trophy. Never saw that coming. I don't count those odd lower rating G1 races as proper G1 wins. I don't think anyone else does either and they really were a bit of a condescending addition to placate lower trainers when the minimum rating for some G1s came in. Glad to see that was either forgotten or scrapped this week at Breeders Cup as at least one lower rated horse won and quite a few got placed.
Full season evaluation when season end. One last thing to try and achieve next week and then will see where we go from there.

Where is my share of the prizemoney I'm not sure who's running Tom but can we sort the schedule. We know the maidens has to go in week 6 or 7, let's turn them into AW races . And see what the next step is for the AW champs. I think it's a great edition to the league and might help newbies stay around.

One thing i like is im totally in the dark how good these horses would be, i don't have any league flat horses to compare them. And I'm breeding downwards instead of the trusted upwards system , I like this challenge.

The new game I started for this season was bred down. I’d always gone the other way too. Seems to have worked a treat

Those front runners will be tough to catch on the dirt! I’ll be disappointed if they’re not Grey too

Do u know what to make it even harder I might try to find a grey mare in game and see if I can bring one along for the fun of it. If trying to get near u lot wasn't hard enough let's make it even harder.

I have been trying to work grey and white into my NH lines for ages, it never sticks. Colour far more useful as a horse indicator than it should be.
I have it in my flat game but it’s a NH line.
And I won’t be hard to catch, no new games for me and those I have are on or approaching their ceiling.

Has expected a bad season was expected after a year of Health and life problems and moving back to Wales and no playing the game with lots of things happening but did better than i expected in both codes on the flat to stayers already in my saves.
Hoping to get some decent Jumpers for next season which i am hoping Alex can arrange it for November for six weeks then Christmas Break before the rest of the season in January because even if the game come out later this year we would need at six months before all the bugs are sorted in the new game before O8 season starts.

Mark has said all along it's the first quarter next year and he's said he likes to release it before the chelts/grand national. I've had a look at So7 and it got released in Dec 2018 and the first league week was April 2020, it took nearly 1 and half years. Actually we still played 6 into June 19. I think the time frame would be around the same for 5 into 6. If this was the last one then it could be 2 years before the next.
