I intend to allow new starters to upload horses whenever they like. I can do it manually in TOM.

I agree about the retiring of horses, however I want the second and third tier of trainers to be able to upload new horses to provide some extra competition. You can't just say Jay, Crazyboy, ESA, you guys aren't allowed to upload new horses. Then the week aftger when their best horses are getting beat say Daxosho, Kenny and co now you can't upload any. That's ridiculous.

Maybe a smaller stable size, say 20, with a maximum of 10 retirements a seasons would be better?

Why is it important to reward these types of players?

Personally I would reward the players who play for the fun of the league and win hardly any races at all - and to do that we need to remove a great number of group races and replace them with bracketed handicaps.

You really should be a politician! What is the "fun" of the league? I think different people compete for different reasons. I, personally, don't take much enjoyment from winning a handicap getting a stone from the second horse! The fact that it is so hard to get a win in the league drives people on. There are already banded races which are under-subscribed.

the thing is - 30 runners in the group 1s spoils the race, as held up horses can lose the race because of getting stuck behind 'also rans'.

its no fun entering a horse in a group race for the sake of it - it ruins their rating so they cnt compete in handicaps, they dont run any kind of race, and also if a lower trainer does have a genuine 100+ rated horse then they can have that excitement of actually having a chance at a place in a big race.

i definitly think there is potential to restrict entries on group races, steve has some good ideas on how to do this.

my one fear is of this thread going on and on with us all putting down our suggestions for it and the start of the league dragging on and on. i hope a decision is made quickly as to whether any of these changes will be implemented.

yes rich thats where i was trying to come form with the continuous upload window suggestion - so that a new trainer can enter any time they like!! But i also think you could do this for every trainer, with a stable size of 20 sounds good. 10 retirements also sounds good, if it were across all three leagues i.e. 10 in total, not 30.

that way, kenny (for example), can upload 15 horses in week 1, a couple more in week 3 if he doesnt like a couple of his first uploads. in week 5 he may find a beast to add to the stable etc

i dont like the fact that if you find a horse during week 2 of the season you have to wait a few weeks to upload it. i think the league could work well using this method

Uploading at any time in season would mean having to enter straight into handicaps to get rating wouldnt it? not many maidens all through the season but at least if the handicaps ( three races rule before rating was implemented) it would stop them being entered straight into Group Races. I do believe we are on the same page with this just needs to find that right balance, over to you MR PRESIDENT!

I think that transfers between the UKRA and NHC should be allowed. Mainly because I've found that some of my good flat horses are better over jumps. I liked being able to use the transfer windows. But personally I don't understand transferring to the US, if you have a UK bred horse it's unlikely to be good on the dirt. So no need to transfer to the US.

I would scrap the USRA, last season I only used it for horses that would not be used in the UKRA this was just to give me an interest in the USRA, I'm sure that most players did this as well.

I would like to see Day 1 and Day 2 in the UKRA, Day 1 maidens, handicaps and maybe banded races, Day 2 keep the current UK schedule as it is (change some of the handicaps from 0-90 to 0-110).

If you find your flat horses to be better then jumps include all your flat horses in your jump trials if they beat your jumps horses there, then there would be no need for transfers as you would have your best in already! Dont mean this to sound blunt but going to work so was a quick reply.

No I know what you mean. I almost definitely won't have anything to do with the league. But as a newish league player, I found that although I did extensive trials I found more about my horses once they were trialed against others in my stable who had been created later in the game. Hence why I suggested it. I thought I'd bring it up because as a new player it seemed a good way to settle in, I could have got some placed horses at least, while you get used to what the league is about.

i did the same as you last season supercat so yes, maybe allow transfers to the nhc from flat because i know wxactly where your coming from. a rubbish flat horse i transferred came 3rd in the queen mother champion chase so it can be a good thing.

yes hackett, but i would like to see more maidens each wee. theres should be at least a sprint maiden, mile maiden, middle distance maiden , and long distance maiden each week in my opinion!!

i like kennys idea of day 1, day 2. lots of maidens, banded, low handicaps day 1, day 2 bigger handicaps and group races. great idea

can we upload horses into TOM now for this season coming?
I have just sorted out my files and can't find the link in my stable on TOM to upload.
