WEEK 4 RACES
As suggested during the week there will be a little change to proceedings this week to spice it up a little and present a nice opportunity to win score some big points.
Firstly, there will be two races to choose the winner for from each league

UK – Race 6 Suffolk Stakes Handicap
Race 10 Sagaro Stakes

US – Race 8 The Arcadia
Race 12 Makers Mark Mile

NHC – Race 5 Peterborough Chase
Race 14 IG Index Cross Country Chase

Okay, now for the little change this week. For the third and final race of each league we will be playing ‘Beat the Banker’.
I have picked a horse from one race in each league which will be the ‘banker bet’. You have one of three options:
1 – Pick the banker bet, and pick up 1 point if it wins.
2 – Pick the field against the banker to pick up 2 points if the banker gets turned over.
3 – Pick any other horse in the field, and if your horse wins you win 5 points.
I hope this balance of points is fine, I have deliberated over it for some time. Beat the banker will return at Royal Ascot so any comments after this week finishes will be appreciated.

UK RACE

2000 GUINEAS – First classic of the season is upon us and 15 will go to post, although one or two may be scratched. The banker is the unbeaten SPEEDITO from the John Scatters yard. Winning twice over 1miles including a listed event at Kenton, this smart colt showed further improvement to win the Greenham at Newbury on ground not too dissimilar to the going at Newmarket. The only race winner in the field, Speedito looks nailed on for guineas glory. Will he triumph? Choose him, the field, or another selection of your own.

USRA RACE

ASHLAND STAKES – A 7f group 1 race for 3yo fillies, this race consists of the classy looking ST SPARKLE. Beaten once by Queen Victoria in her only defeat to date, this filly came out on top in their two other battles against each other and looks a real class act. A number of good horses are in opposition today but can any of them stop St Sparkle from continuing her domination on her way to the Breeders Cup at the end of the season?
(NOTE I COULDNT CHOOSE DANLEIGHS RACE BECAUSE THAT IS TOO MUCH OF A BANKER!!)

NHC RACE

HATTONS GRACE HURDLE – Beaten on his last start, LIVEALITTLE returns to his ideal trip. This horse has looked a real top class hurdler over 2m4f and the return to this trip means that he could be impossible to oppose, and comes from a stable which has made a great start to the season. Hemz wanted to run one of his highly regarded newcomers in the race but had to withdraw to give the horse some experience in less competitive company. The replacement is Dregin Worrywart, unbeaten himself, but the trainer doesn’t seem to bullish about his chances. Can he triumph over the favourite, or is there another horse in the field who will steal the spotlight??
