Ok can I get a quick confirmation on the following, As I am sure we can all do with a re-cap, with everything that has happened in the past week...

1. If a horse has run only once, it can run in a handicap in week 3 but only at the same distance as its first and only run?

2. A horse that has run twice can enter handicaps at either of their first run distances?

3. Is there the 1 furlong maneuver either way if they have run twice at the same distance previous?

4. A horse that has run two different distances, i.e. 1.1F & 1.2F in its first 2 races, can enter listed or above at the distances between 1M - 1.3F ?

I know Rich has discussed re: 5/6F horses etc and blatant attempts at trying to gain an advantage, but I think with so many players aware of this I am sure most of us will monitor and steward any foul play, so to speak....

Ok, I keep re-reading and I am hoping the questions are straight forward enough...

There are no set rules. All of the above are correct, except maybe #4. 1m to 1m3f is a little too much of a distance gap for handicap races. Basically, don't blatantly cheat, and all should be good as far as I see it.

edit: I may have misread your #4 question. You can run any horse at any distance in listed and graded races. No holds barred in listed/graded.

oh thats great so a horse can run at any distance in handicap as long as its at 1 of its distances it ran in maiden company

thats a relief

for eg (horse A) ran in 2 maidens at 7f & 1m

so therefore can race in handicaps at 7f & 1m

Outside of a handicap you can really enter what you want but horses not run to their merits will be handicap banned for the rest of the season.

Otherwise 1-3 are fine.
